[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, this is our first and if its a boy it’ll be [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], as its a family name. However girls names are proving to be a bit more difficult. I love the name [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], but am worried about it being too common. We’ll be using [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] as a middle name (a family name). What’s your top three? Or if you have any other suggestion that would be great too.
My top three that I feel would go with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] (I am assuming that you would eventually be using this name if you have a son).
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] (though I feel [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] go slightly better with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is the name you love)
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]
Okay that is a top 4. My personal feeling is that you should go with [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. Parents need to choose the names that they love the most. It does not matter if it is common, someone doesn’t like it (or most people even), it doesn’t follow the naming rules, etc. If [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is the name you feel attached to and speaks to you, choose that name and then enjoy finding names that you could use for future sisters to [name_f]Isobel[/name_f].
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is by far my favorite! (And honestly, it’s much less popular than [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. :)) [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] is lovely. I personally prefer the [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and then the [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] spellings, but [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is lovely, too. Rather regal, in a highlander Scottish sort of way. I also like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Bethany[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (it’s growing on me. I go back and forth between loving it and hating it, but I love a lot of its nicknames–[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], Liddy, [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], etc!), and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (although I prefer just plain [name_f]Tess[/name_f]).
