[name_u]Baby[/name_u] is two months old. I love his full name;
[name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], but it is a mouth full for such a little guy! Maybe I will get use to it, but I am trying to see if I could pull something shorter out of his name that would fit. [name_f]Do[/name_f] not want just [name_m]John[/name_m]. Maybe [name_m]Jack[/name_m]?
Would love your thoughts!
Thanks!!
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] would be super cute. Not only a traditional nn for [name_m]John[/name_m], but makes perfect sense with [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] with the letters all there in order. JP is another thought.
I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but I also really like the initials JP. When he gets older the other kids will likely give him some good nns. I can imagine a fellow kid calling him [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] P or something along those lines.
I think JP is a perfect nickname for [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]PAtrick[/name_m]… I have also always love the nn Trick for [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]! My sons name starts with a J and middle name is [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]… we jokingly call him J-[name_u]PAT[/name_u] !
I agree JP seems perfect. It preserves the double barrel aspect of his name.
I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] for [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]! There is also Jacks/[name_m]Jax[/name_m] and [name_m]Jett[/name_m].
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] is my favorite! It is so handsome, and makes sense with [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m].
However, I do love [name_m]John-Patrick[/name_m] without a nickname.
Since his name is [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]… JT works as well as JP.
[name_m]Jonty[/name_m] would be sweet.
Thank you for your replies and suggestions!. Hubby seems set on calling him [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] so I guess we will stick with it
every now and then I call him [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]John[/name_m] and after thinking it over I suppose if he gets a nick name it will develop in time with his personality.
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] would work perfectly! It’s a traditional nickname for [name_m]John[/name_m], but fits even better for [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] because all the sounds are in it.
Other suggestions that aren’t as good as [name_m]Jack[/name_m] ([name_f]IMO[/name_f]): [name_m]Johnny[/name_m], [name_u]Pat[/name_u], [name_f]Patty[/name_f], JP
I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] seems like a perfect way to shorten John-Patrick!
That’s my favorite. My brother’s a [name_m]John[/name_m] and goes by [name_m]Johnny[/name_m], but I’m not fond of it at all. I like some of the nns for [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], too–[name_u]Pax[/name_u], [name_u]Paddy[/name_u], or even Trick? [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s my favorite, then [name_u]Pax[/name_u], then [name_u]Paddy[/name_u].
Good luck!
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] or JP
I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m]! Cool and classic like [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] or like someone said Trick for [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. JP is fine but I don’t love it on a little kid. I have also heard the nn [name_u]Tate[/name_u] for [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and think that is cool, incorporates the T from [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
I agree with pp that [name_m]Jack[/name_m] works for a nn. I know a lot of people mentioned JP but what about PJ? I knew a kid who went by PJ and I thought it was pretty cute.

[name_m]Johnny[/name_m]
[name_m]Jake[/name_m] (besides being short for [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], it was originally a variant of [name_m]Jack[/name_m], as I just found out!
