Need help with spelling and a middle name

I’m very keen on the name “[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]” however many people mistake the pronunciation so I’m considering spelling it differently, like “[name_f]Elody[/name_f]” or something like that. Also I don’t have many middle names. Considering [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] as middle names, but i’m not sure. I really love astrology/space/greek mythology names, but they don’t need to fit into that category.

Elodie is so beautiful and vintage! I prefer the [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] spelling, and I would pronounce it “EL-oh-dee.” [name_f]Elody[/name_f] looks a bit made up to me, like [name_f]Melody[/name_f] without the “M.”

For a middle name, I think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] would be lovely! Here are some other ideas:
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Callisto[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Calypso[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Hera[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Myra[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Paris[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Arete[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]

I personally would pronounce [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elody[/name_f] the same so I’m not sure. I also don’t think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is hard to pronounce. What pronunciation are you going for versus how are people mispronouncing it? I just want to offer better spelling advice if needed but I think you could spell it either way!

I like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- that’s really pretty.

I showed a couple people and they said it as
“[name_f]El[/name_f] O [name_f]Dee[/name_f]” and I say it as “[name_f]El[/name_f] Uh [name_f]Dee[/name_f]”/“[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Dee[/name_f]”. Now that I’m saying it aloud and typing it out they’re really not that different in pronunciation, I’ll probably just use the [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] spelling since [name_f]Elody[/name_f] is just [name_f]Melody[/name_f] without the M.

I have heard it as [name_f]El[/name_f]-oh-dee but I like [name_f]El[/name_f]-uh-dee. Thats really pretty. Im not sure if its pronounced differently in different places maybe? I would just spell it [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] as it looks better visually to me!

I know it’s pronounced differently in [name_f]France[/name_f], but we don’t really have any [name_u]French[/name_u] relations in the family so that doesn’t concern me. And yes I agree that [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] does look much better visually. Thank You!

I like [name_f]Elodia[/name_f] just how it is. I personally think people will mispronounce the name no matter what it is. [name_f]My[/name_f] friend [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] has had his name mispronounced.

However if you want to spell differently for sake of clarity may I suggest

Elodee or Elodi

Elody looks incorrect to me (:woman_shrugging:)

I really do like the look of the spelling Elodi, will definitely consider it

Same that’s my favorite alternate spelling

I’d stick with [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. I’ve met a couple and no one had trouble pronouncing it. [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is nice

Elodie [name_u]Hero[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Gaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Piper[/name_u]

Elody will get more misspelled than [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] gets mispronounced. And I can’t see how it changes the pronunciation. I’d stick with [name_f]Elodie[/name_f].

Elodie [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]

Elodie [name_f]Jade[/name_f] is a pretty name. I would pronounce [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] EL-oh-dee, and I think that spelling looks a lot better than [name_f]Elody[/name_f].

I personally think changing the spelling to [name_f]Elody[/name_f] would make MORE people pronounce it incorrectly because I think most people know how [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is pronounced and would assume it was different if spelt [name_f]Elody[/name_f]… I also really don’t like the way it looks, [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is such a pretty name as it is…

Stick with the [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] spelling.

Elodie [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Cara[/name_f]
