Need ideas for a noun/animal name

We have two boys with double middle names. While both middle names are on their birth certificates, the second middle name is typically only used by family, or as sweet nicknames. Our eldest’s is Fawkes, a name that had significant meaning to both parents, and our second child’s is [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m], a family name. (Although, admittedly, we liked the fox + wolf connection for two brothers so close in age!) Now we’re expecting a third, likely a boy, and feeling like we’ve painted ourselves into a corner. We definitely didn’t mean for each child to have an “animal” middle name, but both boys LOVE their animal/brother connection, and use the names like codenames for each other. So now we basically have to come up with a third one.

We have one family name left, [name_u]Finch[/name_u], but it just doesn’t feel right. Too trendy, maybe? I don’t mind the [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] connection, but I wouldn’t want people to think we chose the name because of TKAM.

The other choices we’ve discussed are [name_m]Loch[/name_m] (a name with personal meaning), [name_m]Dov[/name_m] (I like that it reminds me of [name_u]Dove[/name_u] in [name_f]English[/name_f], contrasted with the actual bear meaning) and Hawke (picked out of the blue), but none of them feel perfect either. We don’t have a first name picked out yet, but we’re leaning towards [name_m]Frederik[/name_m], possibly [name_m]Frederik[/name_m] [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m].

Fwiw, if we were having a girl, we have a list of nouns we like—Fleur, [name_f]Darling[/name_f], [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u]. And I like [name_u]Finch[/name_u] much better for a girl.

We have multiple Bears in our life (dogs, and as a first name for a cousin!) so that’s out, and makes me iffy on [name_m]Dov[/name_m] as a choice as well. Any ideas? [name_u]Love[/name_u] to hear any and all ideas!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
First of all, Dove/Dov is an amazing idea! The double animal connection that [name_m]Dov[/name_m] offers is just wonderful for your family, in my opinion. I adore the suggestions of [name_m]Hawk[/name_m], [name_m]Lion[/name_m], [name_m]Crane[/name_m] and [name_u]Falcon[/name_u]. From your list, [name_u]Finch[/name_u] is a perfect option as well. All the names are fun, modern, uncommon and strong.
