Need opinions on our name

So after months of lurking this board, harassing our friends, and debating, we really like the name Truett [name]Henry[/name]. I love the name, but I am a little concerned because our last name is New. So Truett [name]Henry[/name] New? His siblings are [name]Camden[/name] [name]Paul[/name], [name]Bella[/name] [name]Joy[/name], [name]Emmi[/name] [name]Louise[/name], and [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Suzanne[/name]. What do you think?

Truett New? It’s not terrible, but it’s not the best. The nickname [name]True[/name] with the last name New sounds like a comic book character. I do like [name]Henry[/name]. [name]How[/name] about…

[name]Camden[/name] [name]Paul[/name], [name]Bella[/name] [name]Joy[/name], [name]Emmi[/name] [name]Louise[/name], [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Suzanne[/name] and…

[name]Harrison[/name] [name]Henry[/name] New
[name]Corbin[/name] [name]Henry[/name] New
[name]Chandler[/name] [name]Henry[/name] New
[name]Pierson[/name] [name]Henry[/name] New
[name]Bronson[/name] [name]Henry[/name] New

I agree with the above poster. [name]How[/name] about switching order? I think [name]Henry[/name] Truett New sounds great.

I think Truett is a beautiful name, but I agree that with New it’s very rhymey and a bit cartoonish.

[name]Camden[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Emmi[/name], [name]Bella[/name] and… [name]Quentin[/name], [name]Finley[/name], [name]Trenton[/name], [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Justice[/name], [name]Paxton[/name]

I think [name]Henry[/name] Truett New sounds great but Truett New is too rhymey nd like a tongue twister

Unfortunately I have to agree with the above posters. Still, I [name]LOVE[/name] Truett!

Oh wow! I was really thinking that Truett New wasn’t too rhymey and that [name]True[/name] wouldn’t be used as a nickname. But it sounds like people are naturally going to refer to him as [name]True[/name]. Time to search names again…ugh!

I absolutely love Truett [name]Henry[/name]! I really love Truett, I would love to see it used–it’s fabulous. I have a huge thing for -ett names for both genders, and Truett is so unexpected, handsome, and charming. It’s great. I think Truett [name]Henry[/name] is perfect as a combo, I really adore it.

I do think Truett New is a bit problematic, especially if he goes by [name]Tru/name, but honestly, Truett is about as long as half of the nicknames out there ([name]Bella[/name], [name]Emmy[/name]/[name]Emmi[/name], [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Cami[/name], [name]Callie[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Posy[/name], [name]Harry[/name], [name]Nico[/name], etc.), so I really don’t think it’ll need to be shortened. Besides, how often will he be known as [name]Tru/name New? I would think it’d be more of an occasional nn, not used more than his actual name. I don’t think it’s any worse than another two-syllable name with a strong “OO” sound in the first syllable (think [name]Reuben[/name] New, [name]Lucian[/name] New, etc.)–I think [name]Reuben[/name] and [name]Lucian[/name] are totally usable with your LN, so why not Truett? Sure, yeah, it’s there, but I am not sure it’s really a deal-breaker. Then again, I could be blinded by my love for Truett.

Good luck!
