We’ve selected a sentimental/family name “Issei” (pronounced EE-say) for the middle name of our baby boy but are struggling with a nice flowing first name since this Japanese name has a lot of vowels. Any favorites from the below or other suggestions that might work? (Last name initial is S, so no P first names - we don’t want P.I.S as the initials)
I like most of these except [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] (too many s sounds in my opinion). [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] and [name_u]Levi[/name_u] are my favorites. [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] and [name_u]Tate[/name_u] are my least favorites.
Cool middle name - I’d be interested to know the meaning. From your list, I’d pick [name_u]Everett[/name_u] though [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] would be better, or [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]. The surname-y ones are not my style but ok if you like them. Perhaps you might consider similar biblical names to [name_u]Levi[/name_u] without another i, like [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Ezra[/name_u], [name_u]Asher[/name_u].
Thanks for the suggestions - I like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] too!
Issei can mean many things, but usually used for “first generation/first born” or “first success/first of its kind”. In a more western spelling, it is also sometimes spelled “[name_u]Issey[/name_u]” like the fashion designer [name_u]Issey[/name_u] Miyake.
I like [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] Issei! [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] is currently ranked at #317 in the US, so it’s not too common. I really like your middle name choice!
Levi is my favourite of your choices but it doesn’t quite work with Issei unfortunately. [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]’s Issei would be my second choice, or [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] Issei nickname [name_m]Art[/name_m] if that’s a possibility? Other options:
