Expecting our 7th at the end of the month and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is a top contender (along with [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]). We’ve been thinking [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] since my middle name is [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] (and I’m named for my grandmother). Our previous middle name favorite with [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] had been [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] but I’m thinking we maybe should save it for a first name in case we have another boy. Last name is Tys0n. Thanks…
In order of favorite to least favorite: [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m]; although I really like all of them! I think [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] is a GREAT combination!! [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] is a little too much alliteration for my taste, but it works.
Other options (if you want them):
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Just[/name_m] for fun:
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
Thoughts? Good luck!!
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anton[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is definitely the standout name from your list! I find [name_m]Peter[/name_m] too common, and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is very sweet but disappears in comparison to [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m].
I love @katiem333’s suggestion of [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. So charming!
Helpful feedback! We haven’t used Thomas (a mutual all-time favorite) as a first name because of the alliteration with our last name (which makes saving it a little silly, but man I do love Thomas). Somehow I thought slipping it in the middle would made it work okay. We still may go with it, but hubby is pushing for Anthony to honor me. Your combos are great and definitely nail my style – so much so that we’ve used 4 as middles/first already (Andrew, James, Joseph, Patrick). And Alexander, Daniel, and Theodore are used in the family already. Any more along those same style lines?
Ooh, that helps. Gabriel was the name we picked in the middle of the pregnancy. I told my family and some friends are choice and while the response was very positive I felt so weird about it when I told people that I backed off the name. Now, I’m wondering if that was weird pregnancy hormones and I’m suddenly thinking Gabriel is a great choice for us.
You liking Gabriel James makes me wonder about Gabriel John. I would like to use John but my husband doesn’t want to repeat a name used in the family (but in this case it would be okay as a middle because it would clearly be an honor name). I hadn’t suggested it because I wasn’t sure of the flow of the /G/ /J/ sounds.
Any thoughts on Gabriel John?
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] is fantastic.
I think [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a handsome combination; now that I think of it, the [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] I know has the middle name [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so clearly it works! If you love it, I say use it. On that note, I do like [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]. I think I like two syllables in the middle spot a little better, but I think it’s more important to use a name that means something to your family than to worry about what “sounds the best” or any alliteration. I’ll give you some other suggestions just in case:
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] *
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] *
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] *
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
Starred ones are my favorites from this bunch! [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] may not be your style, but it flows nicely so I thought I’d include it. Thoughts on this list?
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] is stunning and by far my favorite out of your list. [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] are nice as well but fall flat in comparison to [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m].
My first thought was [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u]
Have you thought about [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Anton[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]? There’s something about the “-thy ty-” combo that throws me off and [name_m]Anton[/name_m] might push you closer to [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f].
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Dane[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Marcel[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]
I do hear what you mean. I’ve rejected [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] (another family name) in other combinations because of the same issues. I don’t really like [name_m]Anton[/name_m] though.
If you wanted to use [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but were worried about the double /Y/ ending with [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] you could also look at variations such as [name_m]Anton[/name_m] and [name_m]Antonius[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Antonius[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u] has a nice ring to it. I don’t think there is any issue the /G/ /J/ combination of [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]. Again you could look at variations of [name_m]John[/name_m] if you wanted to make it a little different to the other family member, [name_m]Jon[/name_m] [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] (a name in it’s own right but also the Lithuanian form of [name_m]John[/name_m]), [name_m]Jonah[/name_m].
