I am needing some suggestions on short boy names ending in the sound “ah”.
I have 2 daughters named [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f].
We love the name [name_m]Joah[/name_m] but we are still looking for other unique name ideas.
Thanks.
I love the names [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f]. What lucky little girls you have.
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (but this seems like a combo of your girls’ names)
Off the top of my head…
[name_u]Alva[/name_u]
[name_u]Mika[/name_u]
[name_u]Zerah[/name_u]
[name_f]Sora[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f]
Korah (Biblical male name)
[name_u]Elia[/name_u]
[name_u]Dana[/name_u]
[name_u]Ira[/name_u]
[name_m]Koda[/name_m]
[name_u]Sasha[/name_u]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u]
[name_u]Isa[/name_u]
[name_m]Koda[/name_m]
[name_u]Misha[/name_u]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u] or [name_u]Luca[/name_u] sound nice in the sib set
Thanks for the input. I think [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] are really cute but may be getting too popular right now. [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is cute too.
If you like [name_m]Joah[/name_m] you might like Koah, I think it’s Hawaiian.
There’s also…
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
[name_m]Omar[/name_m]
[name_m]Ziah[/name_m]
I’m not sure if ‘er’ ending names are pronounced the same as ‘ah’ ending names in your accent but the are in mine so just in case…
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u]
[name_m]Kier[/name_m]
[name_m]Saer[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Mayer[/name_m]
[name_m]Macer[/name_m]
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_m]Abner[/name_m]
[name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_m]Becker[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Eber[/name_m]
[name_m]Iker[/name_m]
[name_m]Iver[/name_m]
I like [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] alot too but hb doesn’t like it:(
Thanks for the suggestions!
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
[name_u]Ira[/name_u]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f] are lovely! What about:
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] (so popular, but I adore [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] are fantastic!)
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m] (likewise!)
[name_m]Judah[/name_m] (sort of like [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], but less popular? I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_m]Judah[/name_m] are great!)
I like the suggestions of [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_u]Ara[/name_u], as well. Otherwise, I think I’m stumped! The only non-Bible one I can think of is [name_u]Luca[/name_u], which was already mentioned. Besides Russian diminutives, like [name_u]Misha[/name_u], [name_u]Pasha[/name_u], [name_u]Sasha[/name_u], [name_f]Masha[/name_f], etc.
I looked some up–what about these?
[name_f]Aquila[/name_f]
[name_u]Bela[/name_u] (although maybe not advisable, since some would say it to rhyme with [name_f]Ella[/name_f], and it’s so close to one of the most popular nns for girls right now–[name_f]Bella[/name_f]. I love the tie to [name_u]Bela[/name_u] Bartok, though!)
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] (I’m not hugely fond of it, but I do like Kota a lot more than [name_u]Cody[/name_u])
[name_m]Ilya[/name_m] ([name_m]ILYA[/name_m]! It’s the Russian form of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and I adore it. A friend of a former friend has a son named [name_m]Ilya[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], which I think is just gorgeous, and [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_m]Ilya[/name_m] is pretty cool. Although [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_m]Ilya[/name_m] are sort of similar… EEL-yah and [name_f]ELL[/name_f]-ah…)
[name_m]Hosea[/name_m] (hoh-ZAY-ah)
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_f]Kosta[/name_f] (form of [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]/[name_u]Konstantin[/name_u], I think. I think both [name_m]Kostas[/name_m] and [name_f]Kosta[/name_f] are pretty cool…)
[name_m]Koa[/name_m] (I’ve come across it as a Hawaiian name–I think it’s a nice alternative to [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_m]Koa[/name_m] are really cool!)
[name_u]Montana[/name_u] (not really on the short side, but I do think [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_u]Montana[/name_u] are pretty cool!)
[name_u]Nikita[/name_u]/[name_u]Nicola[/name_u]
[name_u]Seneca[/name_u]
[name_m]Vanya[/name_m] (I originally came across this as feminine, but have since seen the masculine side. I think it’s pretty cool for either gender!)
There are several others I almost suggested–[name_m]Zachariah[/name_m], [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m], etc.–but they’re not on the short side at all.
Good luck!
These aren’t short names, but they end in -ah
[name_m]Nehemiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Uriah[/name_m]
[name_m]Zachariah[/name_m]
I love those names, and they do go with the sibset, but so what if it’s too popular? If you like those names, use them. I don’t know if your [name_u]Luca[/name_u] or [name_u]Micah[/name_u] might bump into another [name_u]Luca[/name_u] or [name_u]Micah[/name_u], but if they do, that’ll be cool.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is probably my favorite combo.
Hmm thanks. I am now kinda considering Koah! Such a cute and different name! The Hawaiian origin is somewhat significant as well, since we got married in [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m]! Definitely a name that we are seriously considering now:)
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
Thank you. Koah is now a top contender for us , along with [name_m]Joah[/name_m]!
We have it narrowed down to [name_m]Joah[/name_m] and [name_m]Koa[/name_m] but are still open to new ideas. Thanks again!
