Need top 5 list

Currently 13 weeks pregnant, and trying to broaden my name choices. Currently the top pick for a girl is [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], both my husband and I like it; though we (and especially he) is not 100% sold. Any daughter I have will have the middle name [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], it’s a family name and not negotiable. Our child’s last name sounds like, though is not spelled like, the name [name_m]Hans[/name_m].

We currently looking for other options that both of us like. So we have agreed to put together a new list

My names from the first list where…

[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]/ [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

He disliked all of them. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] was from my list and that was the only one he liked.

His names where…

[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] are the only names of his I actually dislike, due to personal associations. However his list is so common. Especially in the state we live in.

I’m looking for new suggestions. I love names with a bit of history, and a bit of whimsy. I don’t want anything in the top 50, and something that has a pretty nickname is preferable.

We are going to compare lists again in 2 days.

So far I all I have on the new list is…

[name_f]Emerald[/name_f]/ [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]

It might be the hormones but I think [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is a pretty name. I like the nickname [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] or [name_f]Em[/name_f]. I also really love the name [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]; though don’t feel like it shortens it’s self well.

I also like the name [name_f]Undine[/name_f], however I dislike that there are no nicknames, I also know my husband will hate it and so don’t think it will go on list though even though I enjoy it.

Fresh option would be welcome!

Emmalyn/Emmaline Sarah?
Emerald is gorgeous to me, and love the nn Emmie.
or…Emberly Sarah, Emilia Sarah, Emalia(ehmMAWLyah)
Elena
Ellen
Emery
Melanie
Melody

[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Macie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]

I’m not too keen on [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], mainly because they both share too many sounds.

[name_f]Emerald[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is okay, but it isn’t really my naming style so I can’t pass too many comments about it. If you really like the precious stones, I think [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] sounds better

I REALLY like the suggestion of [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f], (however [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] sounds and looks prettier in my opinion). [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] comes with such a sweet nn too!

Your husband is obviously into the classical names whereas yours are a little more out there (but only just).

Have you thought about:

[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

[name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

Also anything with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in it is out. His sister in law is [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f], goes by [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. While we both love her, we don’t really want anything with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in it as it just seems like someone else’s name. If that makes sense.

My favorites from both of your lists are [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f].

Maybe [name_f]Livia[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]?

Honestly I love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. However in the state I live in [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is number 1 in popularity. With more baby girls being born with the name every year. Likewise [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] which is number 3, and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is number 8.

While I don’t feel like I need a name that is totally unique to my child. I don’t want to name them something quite that common.

As far as [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] while I love them, he has reasons either disliking or disqualifying each. (He has a cousin named [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], and while he has no bad associations with that cousin he doesn’t like the name for his child.)

[name_m]Hence[/name_m] why we need a new list.

[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]/ [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is a very pretty name. However for me it almost seems like gilding the lily; as [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is such a beautiful (but common! #2 in the state I live) name on it’s own.

I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]; though I think [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] may not have quite the ring I’m looking for. Still it might go on the list, even though I know hubby will tease me for it.

Some suggestions:
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Liliane[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

I’ve known too many women named [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]/ [name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/ [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] (also irrationally and but intensely dislike the nn [name_f]Vi[/name_f], also why [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is off the table); [name_f]Helen[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] for me to consider those names.

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and I should love it as it completely fits into the category I’m looking for. But some how just doesn’t catch my eye.

For me [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] reminds me of the Romani or [name_u]Romany[/name_u] people. Which is not a bad thing, but for me takes away a bit of it’s appeal.

Still love the suggestions, please keep them coming.

What about:
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] (nn.[name_u]Rory[/name_u])
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]/a
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]/[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_f]Layla[/name_f]/[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Aislinn[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Talitha[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f]
[name_f]Thora[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] (nn.[name_f]Effie[/name_f])
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]/[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]

[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Audria[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]

A few I like:

[name_f]Roseanna[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Garnet[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

I like the suggestions of [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is actually my first name, and I love it! But I don’t think I’ll be naming this little one after me.

For some reason names like [name_f]Martha[/name_f] and [name_f]Marie[/name_f] still sound a bit old to me. I think of [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Calender and [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_m]Stewart[/name_m]. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is another name that seems like it fits my criteria very well but I can’t quite take a shine to. The movie Annabelle’s Wish may have ruined the name for me forever.

I also like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] though I’ve already discussed that name with my husband and he has already nixed it. :frowning:

[name_f]Garnet[/name_f] is a pretty name, but I don’t like that you can’t shorten it.

I am not a fan of [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f].

ETA

Also have two aunt Julies one is a Julia, one is a Juliana. Juliet is a wonderful, beautiful name, but I think to similar to Julie for me. Also have a cousin Camille.

I’m not a huge fan of naming child after places unless they have a lot of significance to you. So for me Astoria is out of the running.
