I’m expecting a baby in less than 5 weeks, and although I have a feeling it’ll be a little boy, I want to be prepared for the possibility of a girl as well.
My husband has from the very beginning asked that we name a daughter [name]Nora[/name], after his grandma. The other criteria is that [name]Nora[/name] must have two middle names (like my husband and her older brother). However I’m finding it really hard to choose two middle names that just flow.
This is my current (and rather long) fav girls name list, but feel free to add any other names, as I’m feeling quite stuck…
[name]Celeste[/name] (my younger sister’s name)
Clementine
[name]Clover[/name]
[name]Echo[/name]
[name]Elke[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] (my middle name, so a bit of cheating there)
[name]Fern[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]India[/name]
[name]Ines[/name]
[name]Iolanthe[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] (my Grandmother’s name)
[name]Nell[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] (after my partner’s Grandma)
[name]Obelia[/name]
[name]Opal[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Thisbe[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name]
I think [name]Nora[/name] is a great name and here were a few combinations that I came up with from your list:
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Fern[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Clover[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] (I don’t think you can do [name]Flora[/name] with [name]Nora[/name] so I put in [name]Fleur[/name] as an alternative)
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
I also think naming her [name]Eleanora[/name] or [name]Lenora[/name] nn [name]Nora[/name] would be nice and most of these combinations could work with [name]Eleanora[/name] or [name]Lenora[/name] as well. Using one of these longer names may help with the mns you like as well. For instance, I think [name]Lenora[/name] [name]Obelia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Lenora[/name] [name]India[/name] [name]Eve[/name] sound good but don’t work as well with just [name]Nora[/name]. Best wishes!
I have been thinking about all the [name]Nora[/name] variations (there are so many out there), but my husband shoots them down and is adamant that it must be [name]Nora[/name] (which I think I secretly prefer anyway).
Can you believe I hadn’t come up with any of the combos on your list? I really like [name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Fern[/name] and I also think that [name]Nora[/name] [name]India[/name] [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] [name]Obelia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] are lovely (even without the longer [name]Lenora[/name]).
I think [name]Nora[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] _____ would work so well. But [name]Charlotte[/name]'s not on your list.
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] sounds great.
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Fern[/name]
My YDD is [name]Nora[/name] [name]Jane[/name] and if I were to do it again, I would add an 2nd mn – like [name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jane[/name] or N. [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Jane[/name]…
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] & [name]Nora[/name] [name]Opal[/name] [name]Fern[/name] most from the suggestions. [name]Nora[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Sage[/name] really makes me smile as well.
Or [name]Nora[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Clover[/name] is my suggestion xx
Thank you everyone for such wonderful, beautiful suggestions. I loved [name]Nora[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Nora[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Sage[/name] (as well as [name]Nora[/name] [name]India[/name] [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] [name]Obelia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]).
However my husbands all time favourite was by far [name]Nora[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] (I love the idea that my daughter will have a swoon worthy name). So that will most likely be our girls name (I’ll keep the list just in case however!)
