The [name]Queen[/name]'s grandson [name]Peter[/name] [name]Phillips[/name] and his Canadian-born wife [name]Autumn[/name] have welcomed their second daughter, [name]Isla[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Older sister is [name]Savannah[/name]. [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Savannah[/name] are not only two place names but they are nature names as well.
I like it really cute:). I wonder when [name]Prince[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Princess[/name] [name]Kate[/name] will have kids? I cant wait to hear their names too.
Nice names. I have to admit to being surprised at seeing only one mn!
@saracita00: since these two girls are the [name]Queen[/name]'s great-grandchildren, have no titles and therefore “commoners”, I guess they figured that one middle name was the way to go! I can’t find any mn for [name]Savannah[/name].
First daughter is [name]Savannah[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name]
[name]Prince[/name] [name]William[/name]'s wife’s name is not [name]Princess[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. She will never be [name]Princess[/name] anything. She is [name]Catherine[/name], HRH the Duchess of Cambridge. If [name]William[/name] ever becomes [name]Prince[/name] of [name]Wales[/name], she will become [name]Catherine[/name], HRH The [name]Princess[/name] of [name]Wales[/name]. [name]Princess[/name] is reserved for those children who are daughters and granddaughters (of sons) of the king or queen. Except, of course, for Lady [name]Louise[/name] [name]Windsor[/name], the daughter of [name]Prince[/name] [name]Edward[/name], the [name]Earl[/name] of Wessex. It is probable (although uncertain) that when [name]Prince[/name] [name]Edward[/name] becomes the [name]Duke[/name] of Edinburgh that [name]Edward[/name]'s children will become [name]Princess[/name] [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Prince[/name] [name]James[/name] of Edinburgh.
I do like [name]Isla[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], I think that’s a great name. [name]Savannah[/name] doesn’t rock my boat, but many of the “lesser” royals have either trendsetting names or names that are relatively normal for these times. The [name]Earl[/name] of Ulster’s daughter is Lady [name]Cosima[/name], for example, and Lady [name]Helen[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] set the bar fairly high with her children [name]Columbus[/name], [name]Cassius[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], and [name]Estella[/name] – way ahead of the curve.
It will be interesting to see if [name]Zara[/name] [name]Phillips[/name] Tindall (sp?) has children and what she names them.
I’d also be very interested in what the [name]Duke[/name] and Duchess of Cambridge will call their children. I’m a massive fan of [name]Catherine[/name], I find her inspiring and fascinating. She’s so normal, yet extraordinary.
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] isn’t to my taste, but perfectly acceptable. I vastly prefer [name]Louise[/name] and [name]James[/name] to [name]Savannah[/name] and [name]Isla[/name].
I much prefer [name]Isla[/name] on royalty over [name]Savannah[/name].
Interesting thread
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a beautiful name but it doesn’t scream “royalty”. I much prefer it to [name]Savannah[/name].
I agree. I’ve always thought [name]Savannah[/name] was a poor choice, and kind of out of place! (not that I have anything against the name, although its nms)
