New girl names on my list

Recently, I started to consider adding following to my list:

[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f]/Roselyne and [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] - with this spelling
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]

Thoughts?

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - love, obviously. It’s my pick if we have another girl.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] - I like, but love the nickname [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] more
[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f]/Roselyne and [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] - not my favorite [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names. I prefer [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] - not a fan of the spelling.
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] - I feel like it doesn’t fit the tone of the other names.

ETA: [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] has negative connotations to me because of the Biblical story

I don’t love the spelling on [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] and [name_f]Roselyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] does’t seem right, but the others are nice.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u], but the popularity has caused me to consider it only for a middle name. This name feels sweet and soft.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (and nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]!). They are strong and feisty to me with vintage charm.
[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f]/Roselyne and [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] - [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f] is too elegant for me. Roselyne seems like it would be misspelled. [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] though is intriguing and I like its historical feel due to the [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] [name_m]Stone[/name_m]. [name_f]Etta[/name_f] would be a cute nn.
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] - Like the sound but it’s a little princessy for me personally.
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] - Quirky and strong. I like it, but wouldn’t use it.
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u]! This is on my list as an honor name for my father ([name_u]Randy[/name_u]) and to me it has an upbeat vibe, with Shakespearean connections.

I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f]! [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] are also gorgeous :).

I don’t mind [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] and [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] but I don’t think they ‘fit’ well with the rest. [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] and [name_f]Roselyn[/name_f] are okay.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - This is a nice name. I love the color association, and the nickname “[name_f]Vi[/name_f].” It reminds me of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Baudelaire

[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] - To be honest…I think of Mrs. [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] from the “[name_m]Little[/name_m] House on the [name_u]Prairie[/name_u]” TV series. She’s not who I’d want to think of when I think of a name, and I feel like [name_m]Little[/name_m] House on the [name_u]Prairie[/name_u] is such a nostalgic TV show within American families. If you’re not American, the association wouldn’t be a problem. I like the [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_m]Beecher[/name_m] [name_m]Stowe[/name_m] association!

[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f]/Roselyne and [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] - I like these! [name_u]Unique[/name_u] names beginning with [name_f]Ros[/name_f]- always intrigue me. Out of all of these, I probably prefer [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f], but [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f] is wonderful too.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] - Sorry, but I really don’t think this name is usable. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is probably one of the worst Biblical name associations you can possibly have. It sounds pretty, but I would be horrified if I ever met a girl named [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] - It’s a bit plain, but I still think I would be excited if I met someone with the name.

[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]! It’s a wonderful name!

Out of your name choices, I really think you’d enjoy Shakespearean girl’s names.

I love [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. This name has so much going for it. The only short form I really like for it though is [name_f]Harrie[/name_f], which is not everyone’s taste. If I chose it I’d try to keep the full name being used and go to something a bit left-field for a nn such as Tiggy. I love it even more now that I have just read ‘An Aristocratic Affair’ by [name_f]Janet[/name_f] Gleeson about [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] sister of [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] Duchess of Devonshire. There are so many Harriets in the family that one is called by the nn Harryo - which I love and would consider using as a nn.

I really like [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. The only rose names I really like are [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. The rest seem too fussy to me. And [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is everywhere is Australia in women aged in their 60s and 70s - it seems about half women in this age group are called [name_f]Ros[/name_f], short for the longer [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] variations.

[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] is a name I feel I should like, but unfortunately I can’t get past the ‘bull’ sound - like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is too frilly or light to me, and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] is ok, just very 70s- 80s. She will always be Picnic at Hanging [name_m]Rock[/name_m] - but is that just an Australian reference?
