I am new to this site, came across it in my name search. I am in the process of naming my 3rd child, a daughter due late [name_f]October[/name_f] and my Husband and I aren’t making any progress. We have a son named [name_u]Harlem[/name_u] and a daughter named [name_f]Symphony[/name_f] so clearly we like unique names, but this time around is proving difficult.[name_f]My[/name_f] son’s name came from the fact that my mother in law is the only of her siblings born in [name_u]Harlem[/name_u], the rest were born in [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]. So when we were stuck on a boy name, [name_u]Harlem[/name_u] was suggested and we loved it. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter [name_f]Symphony[/name_f] has had her name long before she was ever conceived, we fell in love with it when thinking of names before we knew the gender of our first. So naming her was easy.
So fast forward to now and we seem to be at a standstill. Here are the names being considered:
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] (my Husband’s pick, he loves it and while it is growing on me I am still not that fond of it) [name_f]Journey[/name_f] (my sister in law suggested this and we both liked it immediately but found out a friend has been wanting to name their daughter that for a long time) so now I am on the fence about it
I feel we need more options in case we are overlooking something we both may love. Last night ‘[name_f]Marvel[/name_f]’ was suggested to me on another name site after typing in both ‘[name_f]Nova[/name_f]’ and ‘[name_f]Journey[/name_f]’ into the site. We both think it is kind of cute but he said he’d be hesitant to go with that name since people will automatically associate it with the comics (especially since he is a big fan of that franchise)
Sorry for the length…so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Doesn’t have to be from any particular category, just something cute and different that we can add to your list to have more options. Thanks.
I love both of those names! I have to say I like [name_f]Journey[/name_f] a little more than [name_f]Nova[/name_f], but can’t go wrong either way.
BTW - [name_u]Harlem[/name_u] & [name_f]Symphony[/name_f] are amazing names!

I love your children’s names! If your looking for something unique-[name_f]Nova[/name_f] is fast on the rise. I live in a rural area and there have been 3 babies named [name_f]Nova[/name_f] in the past year, and I know of two more on the way. I also saw that is has been steadily climbing in some of the name surveys.
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] are both part of the musical field.
I like the middle names [name_f]October[/name_f], or [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] (goes with [name_u]Harlem[/name_u])
I’d vote [name_f]Nova[/name_f] over [name_f]Journey[/name_f] because it seems like [name_f]Journey[/name_f] is trending a little bit right now. I have a few acquaintances who have a newborn [name_f]Journey[/name_f] in their life and per Nameberry it’s been climbing up the charts [In 2010, it jumped 75 places, then another 49 in 2011, and now resides at number 327] so with it being dear to one of your friends as well, I’d probably keep searching.
I will second that [name_f]Nova[/name_f] seems to be on the rise. I have seen it used in the middle spot a few times by girls I went to high school with. [name_m]Jett[/name_m] is another name that has been getting use in my social circle. Something to keep in mind if you are going for a very unique name. I have yet to see [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], which is similar to [name_f]Nova[/name_f].
I just want to say that I would totally pick [name_f]Journey[/name_f].
Think about it,Symphonee and [name_f]Journee[/name_f] have the same ending sound.That’s perfect!!!
I like [name_f]Journey[/name_f] better than [name_f]Nova[/name_f] when the other 2 siblings are taken into consideration… here are some other word and place names that might fit the bill…
I immediately thought of [name_f]Aria[/name_f]. I know that it isn’t a unique name, but it does have a musical meaning. Other than that, maybe [name_u]Story[/name_u], [name_u]Harmony[/name_u], [name_f]Melody[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u], and [name_u]Waverly[/name_u].
