[name]Jai[/name]‘Da [name]Rae[/name]
[name]Rae[/name]’[name]Lyn[/name] Khai [ ky ]

please help me out (:

Congrats on your pregnancy!

[name]Do[/name] these names mean anything to you? Why do you like them?

Are you okay with having pretty unpronounceable names for your baby?

Personally i don’t like most of your names. I don’t mind [name]Jai[/name]‘zell [name]Xavier[/name], but just looking at it i wouldn’t pronounce it “jay-zell”. For the girls i would pick [name]Jenesis[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] or [name]Rae[/name]’[name]Lyn[/name] Khai. I noticed that you have much more traditional names in the middle name slot. I would strongly suggest that you switch the names and lead with the traditional name and leave the apostrophe laden “j” names for the middle slot. It’s been shown in studies that people with “less ethnic” names have a higher earning potential and get called back for job interviews 33% more often than their “ethnic” competitors.

Good luck!

ooo well i like alot of the names , but yea i guess your right about the whole pronouncing thing but i like odd names for my baby not regular names that have been around for a long time but by looking at the names i chose you probably wouldnt know how to say them but if i said them too you , you would probably like them more. but i also like [name]Serenity[/name] for a girl name (:

i have a few more names too add

girls -
[name]Serenity[/name] kasey
[name]Cassidy[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
Desire [name]Lee[/name]
Nyeli [name]Marie[/name]
A’nyah [name]Rae[/name]
[name]Jaelyn[/name] [name]Star[/name]
Jarissa [name]Kay[/name]

boys -
Aiyden [name]Michael[/name]
[name]Jayce[/name] [name]Kyle[/name]
[name]Ky[/name]'el [name]Taj[/name]
Avan [name]John[/name]
[name]Terance[/name] joel
[name]Giovanni[/name] [name]Xavier[/name]

take a pick & anymore suggestions or any more ideas ?

Best wishes to you and the little one on his or her way!

I agree there are reasons to want a more commonly-held spelling in the first position. More than anything else, I just think it’s nice to not have to always spell and pronounce your name.

I would discourage [name]Jai[/name]’[name]Zell[/name] an Jyzell - they remind me too much of the girls’ name [name]Giselle[/name].

I like the sound of the other two boys’ names. They evoke the Biblical names [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Isaiah[/name], and [name]Joshua[/name] to my ear. [name]Do[/name] you like any of those?

All of your girls’ names are pretty! You might also consider:
[name]Giselle[/name]
[name]Genesis[/name]
[name]Juliana[/name] (different name but similar)
[name]Jae[/name]-[name]Liana[/name], [name]Jay[/name]-[name]Liana[/name] or [name]Jae[/name] [name]Liana[/name], [name]Jay[/name] [name]Liana[/name]
[name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Annaliese[/name], or [name]Jane[/name]-[name]Elise[/name]/ [name]Jane[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Jae[/name] or [name]Jay[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name]/[name]Annaliese[/name] (could do hyphens here too but it seems really unbalanced).

If you use any spelling of / variation on [name]Anneliese[/name], I’d recommend the second n in the [name]Anna[/name] part. Otherwise It looks like a word that might cause some teasing.

All best!

I like Nyeli [name]Marie[/name]

I would spell it Nyli, though. That is my favorite out of your list! What about Nyli [name]Gisele[/name]? [name]Both[/name] very different and remind me of your nameslist.

I agree with the other berries that the apostrophe names aren’t very easy to pronounce and may evoke issues for you in the future.

Good luck! Let us know what you decide

I think the other thing about apostrophe names is that they may not translate well to forms, computer records, credit cards, etc. I could be wrong, but I may not be. It might be worth looking into.

I agree with the point about apostrophes.

Also, instead of Jarissa [name]Kay[/name], why not [name]Carissa[/name] [name]Jay[/name]? [name]Carissa[/name] means beloved. I think its a pretty name.

I like Aiyden [name]Michael[/name] for your boys name but I prefer it spelt [name]Aiden[/name].

Good luck!

I agree that apostrophe names tend to not translate well into real life. For example, one of my best friends has an Italian surname, similar to D’[name]Angelo[/name], and the apostrophe in it gets dropped out all the time on forms, credit cards, airplane tickets, etc. and then those don’t match her ID exactly and it makes her life more complicated. Of course, when it’s a surname you can’t avoid it, but I think it should be avoided in first names. [name]Even[/name] hyphens are getting too difficult these days. Many of your names, sound wise, resemble established names that are still uncommon, so I would reccomend those. Also I love a lot of your middle name choices and would encourage those in the first name spot.

boy names -
[name]Jai[/name]’[name]Zell[/name] [ jay-zell ] [name]Xavier[/name] - how about [name]Xavier[/name] [name]Jay[/name], [name]Xavier[/name] [name]Jazz[/name], or even [name]Jazz[/name] as a first name?
Jy’Zayah [ jy-zay-ah ] [name]Michael[/name] - sounds almost exactly like [name]Josiah[/name], which is such a handsome name. [name]Josiah[/name] [name]Michael[/name] is beautiful.
Jyzelle A’marei [ ah-ma-ray ] - sounds too similar to feminine [name]Giselle[/name].
Ja’Syah [ jah-sy-ah ] [name]Taj[/name] [ tahj ] - also sounds like [name]Josiah[/name]. [name]Josiah[/name] [name]Taj[/name] would be great. [name]Taj[/name] in the first name spot is very cool as well.

girl names -
[name]Jeh[/name]‘zell [name]Marie[/name] - I’d spell it [name]Giselle[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. So pretty.
[name]Jenesis[/name] [ jeh-nah-sis ] [name]Lynn[/name] - [name]Genesis[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]. Or [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Lynn[/name].
[name]Jai[/name]’[name]Leiana[/name] [ jay-lee-ah-nah ] [name]Lynn[/name] - [name]How[/name] about [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Julietta[/name] or [name]Liana[/name]? [name]Liana[/name] [name]Jane[/name]? [name]Jane[/name] [name]Liana[/name]?
J’Analeise [ jay-ah-nah-lease ] [name]Marie[/name] - Annaleise is so pretty on it’s own! And very uncommon as it is.
[name]Jai[/name]‘Da [name]Rae[/name] - [name]Jada[/name] [name]Rae[/name] maybe? I could see the spelling being stretched to [name]Jayda[/name] for pronunciation purposes.
[name]Rae[/name]’[name]Lyn[/name] Khai [ ky ] - you could spell this [name]Raelyn[/name] or Raylin, though any way you spell it will look trendy. [name]Kai[/name] is so cool. I’d go with [name]Kai[/name] Raylin.

Of your other girls names I like
[name]Serenity[/name] kasey
[name]Cassidy[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
(and agree that [name]Carissa[/name] [name]Jay[/name] would be really cool)

Of your other boys names I like
[name]Terrance[/name] [name]Joel[/name]
[name]Giovanni[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] (love this one!)

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I have to agree with the other posters who mentioned the potential drawbacks of the apostrophe in the name. From your 2nd list, I think Nyeli is pretty for a girl. [name]Cassidy[/name] is quite nice as well.
I like [name]Jayce[/name] for a boy, but think [name]Jayce[/name] [name]Michael[/name] (or [name]Jayce[/name] [name]Xavier[/name]) flows better than [name]Jayce[/name] [name]Kyle[/name].
Avan is interesting…I have never seen this name, but I do like it! I really like Avan [name]John[/name].
Best,
L.

thanks for the help , i got a sonogram today & i just had to find out the sex of my baby, i couldnt wait anymore & my baby is in fact a GIRL like i thought (: & we are pretty sure we are naming her Nyeli [name]Giselle[/name] . but more suggestions are needed, the name right now is not a deffinate yes .

Congratulations! What a beautiful name! I was unfamiliar with it but just like the sound – googling I really like that it (at least, spelled [name]Nayeli[/name]) comes from a Zapotec name meaning “I love you”. [name]Giselle[/name] is from a [name]German[/name] name meaning “to pledge” - I pledge/promise I love you – how great!

I did notice the name [name]Nayeli[/name] is [name]WAY[/name] more common than I would ever imagine. I guess it is another sign of the influence of Latina culture in the US. It appears this is the most common and preferred spelling, so I might recommend it.

Best wishes!

I do really like Nyeli [name]Giselle[/name]! It’s super sweet but also strong. Some other suggestions could be [name]Moira[/name], [name]Akiva[/name], or [name]Ember[/name]! But I think Nyeli [name]Giselle[/name] should be the winner!

Congrats on the baby girl. I agree with the previous poster, I would avoid adding unneccesary apostrophes. They look a little silly and will make for a night mare on forms, government documents etc. I love the mn [name]Giselle[/name], so pretty and sophisticated just like a little princess. [name]How[/name] is Nyeli prn? I’m assuming Ny-ell-ee. Am I right? have you considered [name]Nayeli[/name] instead? Like the previous poster said, it means “I love you”. You cant get a better name meaning then that.

Others you might like:

[name]Hi[/name]!
First up - congrats on your bub! [name]How[/name] exciting.
I think you are making a wise choice taking out the apostrophe names and names that are defnitely ‘made up’ sounding even thought they sound pretty to you. I think it is so easy to get caught up in the whole excitement of the naming process and forget what purpose a name serves - and it is our job to pick a name that will serve our daughters well. THis means one that will translate well inyour family, in their chosen career, on their CVs, in your community…its a big job!
I think [name]Cassidy[/name] is pretty and love [name]Cassie[/name] as a nickname. [name]Cassidy[/name] [name]Giselle[/name] is lovely.

Any other choices you are considering at this stage?

x

i would pick [name]Nayeli[/name] but the thing is my god-daughters name is Nayliese so i dont really want to put " nay " in my daughters name so that is why i chose Nyeli [ ny-ell-ee ] [name]Giselle[/name] & just to answer some of the questions other posters have , i actually do have another name that i really like & it is [name]Aniyah[/name] [name]Jade[/name] but im pretty sure im sticking with Nyeli [name]Giselle[/name] (:

WOW Congrats!!!

I am glad you liked my suggestion, so excited to see you are thinking of using it  Please let us know when little Nyeli [name]Giselle[/name] arrives!
