We are due in [name]August[/name] and we have been whittling the names down and since my daughter was born almost 2 years ago.
We have [name]Orrin[/name] [name]Chace[/name] (my stepson, 8) and [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] (2) and live in Australia. Our last name is Forman.
We have decided on [name]Peregrine[/name] [name]Morrissey[/name] (nn [name]Penn[/name]) for a boy.
[name]Peregrine[/name] for the sound of the word, the bird and patron saint of cancer (my grandmother died of liver cancer in [name]December[/name])
[name]Morrissey[/name] was my grandmothers maiden name, and she only had sisters so the name didn’t carry.
[name]Penn[/name] because my mum would have called my sister and I [name]Penn[/name] if we were boys and always wanted a boy, and I’m not a big fan of [name]Perry[/name].
Our current girl names are:
[name]Fern[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] - I like [name]Fern[/name] but probably too much with Forman as previously posted
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name] - [name]Aurelia[/name] is my favourite first atm
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Artemis[/name] - I like the mythological connection with [name]Iris[/name] (Greek goddess of rainbow), [name]Artemis[/name] is goddess of the moon
[name]Aurelia[/name] Fayaway - Fayaway is a character in [name]Herman[/name] [name]Melville[/name] book ‘Typee’, my middle is [name]Fey[/name].
[name]Aurelia[/name] Nimue - Nimue (nim-oo-ay) is the name of the lady of the lake in [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Rosa[/name] [name]Artemis[/name] - My husband likes [name]Rosa[/name] the best
[name]Rosa[/name] Nimue
[name]Ada[/name] Nimue - I feel [name]Ada[/name] is too short but really love it
[name]Ada[/name] Fayaway
[name]Just[/name] interested in everyone’s thoughts

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Peregrine[/name]! Great choice! My youngest is [name]Peregrine[/name], and I wanted to nn him [name]Penn[/name] or maybe [name]Perrin[/name]. When the little man showed up though, the nn’s I had in mind just didn’t fit! We finally settled on [name]Pippin[/name] (which Tolkien actually did not invent; [name]Pippin[/name] has been a [name]Peregrine[/name] diminutive since the Middle Ages). If he starts to “grow out of” [name]Pippin[/name] we (or he) might reconsider [name]Penn[/name]. Anyway [name]Peregrine[/name] is a great name, and I think it’s fantastic that [name]Penn[/name] has significance to your family, and I’m always a sucker for family middles, so I hope you keep this choice.
On the girls side, all of your picks are pretty in their own way, but I get the idea that maybe you haven’t found the one [name]BOTH[/name] of you love. I wonder if you and your hubby might find some middle ground on an extended [name]Rose[/name] name, like Roswen/Roswyn/Rosewyn, [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Rosalia[/name], [name]Rosaelia[/name], [name]Rosalina[/name], [name]Rosalinde[/name], or [name]Rosamund[/name].
First, I absolutely adore your daughter’s name! [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] is fabulous!
[name]Peregrine[/name] is lovely, and I don’t like [name]Morrissey[/name] myself, but I love the significance it holds to you, and it sounds great with [name]Peregrine[/name]. Of your girls options, My favourite is [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name]. I think the [name]Fern[/name] Forman issue is resolved with that, as it’s a middle name and would arely be used. I also like the rhythm of [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name] Forman; it’s fun to say.
Definitely [name]Aurelia[/name] for the fn. The others don’t stand up next to [name]Orrin[/name] & [name]Iris[/name]. All the mn choices are nice, my favorite is [name]Artemis[/name]
I think [name]Aurelia[/name] is my top choice for first name, too, though I do love one of your [name]Rosa[/name] combos.
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name] - I love that [name]Fern[/name] feels so unexpected and it’s a fantastic name!
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Artemis[/name] - I love the alliteration here and [name]Artemis[/name] is a favorite of mine.
[name]Aurelia[/name] Nimue - Nimue is definitely a growing GP of mine. [name]Lovely[/name] combo!
[name]Rosa[/name] [name]Artemis[/name] - There’s always a chance the a’s might blend the name into one long name, but I love the sound of this and both names individually.
My standout favorite would be [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Artemis[/name] or [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name]. I’m torn between the two.
[name]Peregrine[/name] [name]Morrissey[/name] is a fantastic choice. [name]Aurelia[/name] Nimue gets my vote for a daughter. I love the elegant, unusual [name]Aurelia[/name] paired with the whimsical, mysterious Nimue.
I love [name]Peregrine[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name]. For you, [name]Morrissey[/name] has a family connection. For me, it is the name of one of my favourite musical artists whom I listened to in my youth ([name]Morrissey[/name] of the group The Smiths). [name]Aurelia[/name] Forman just rolls off the tongue beautifully. I like [name]Artemis[/name] and Nimue in the middle spot.
I like [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Fern[/name] Forman; the alliteration works quite well in the middle.
However, [name]Fern[/name] as a namesake doesn’t stand up to the lady of the lake. I think [name]Aurelia[/name] Nimue has too many vowels all in a row to work; if you switched to her French name, Niniane, you would definitely have my vote. [name]Aurelia[/name] Niniane is gorgeous.
[name]Peregrine[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name] are just gorgeous together! My eyes literally widened when I saw the title of your thread. I love the meaning behind [name]Peregrine[/name] [name]Morrissey[/name]. My favourite combo is [name]Aurelia[/name] Nimue- I’ve loved [name]Aurelia[/name] for a while and Nimue adds just the right amount of quirkiness. [name]Both[/name] flow wonderfully with Forman.
