Hi berries!
So recently my 12 year old niece, Eleanor, has been thinking about going by a nickname. She likes Ellie, Elle, or Ella as nicknames.
I figured I might as well hop on here and get some of your opinions on her nickname switch, so what do you guys think? Which of these should she pick, or do you think she should just stick with Eleanor?

I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] on it’s own and if she’s getting her beautiful name in its long form without being shortened I’d be loathe to corrupt that.
Out of those options, I like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] best.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] by a mile though is [name_f]Nell[/name_f], that’s what I’d be going by if not the full name and if I had the luxury of the choice. There are also [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_m]Len[/name_m], [name_f]Leni[/name_f] as possibilities. [name_m]Len[/name_m] / [name_f]Leni[/name_f] are very cool.
I personally like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] the best, but I don’t think she can go wrong with any of them! I think she can also easily go back and forth between [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and any of these nicknames.
I personally like the full [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Nell[/name_f] best but she’s old enough to know what feels right for her so if she wants to go by Ellie/Elle/Ella then she absolutely should, I like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] best of the three.
I think [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is most intuitive… adding the “a” seems unnecessary but it’s just a matter of taste i suppose. She has lots of options with that gorgeous name!
Both [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] are gorgeous names, I’ve always liked them.
She could also go with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a nickname.
I think she should go with what she likes best, and be true to herself. She could easily switch between [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and her nickname.
