nickname Amy or Emmy?

I love both the names [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. Although I love them both I would probably end up using a nn for it. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Amy[/name_f], or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]?

I know I’ve been posting a lot recently, so thanks for helping me out with all of my little dilemmas I’ve been having!

I prefer [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Amy[/name_f], even if [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is super popular right now.

I prefer [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Amy[/name_f]. For one it’s the name of a character I love, and also because I personally find [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] a bit more awkward to say for an almost identical sound to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I do really like [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], but [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Amy[/name_f] has more meaning to me, even though it’s very popular where I am.

I think [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is a better and more common nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. But [name_f]Mia[/name_f] is more common for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and I think prettier

I agree with musicwaves! I think [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is a more intuitive nickname for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], as well as having a softer feel than [name_f]Amy[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Amy[/name_f], but I like just [name_f]Amy[/name_f] the best.

I agree with this; even though I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as well, I think [name_f]Amy[/name_f] is a great name on its own!

I’m not the biggest fan of [name_f]Amy[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], I think it’s a bit overused. I love [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] though. [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f] are other nns for both spellings that I think are lovely too:)

I adore both [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], slightly preferring [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. I much prefer [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] (preferring the spelling [name_f]Emme[/name_f]) over [name_f]Amy[/name_f].

I think I prefer [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmy[/name_f]. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is not as commonly used as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], which I like, plus [name_f]Amy[/name_f] doesn’t feel like a natural nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I agree with the previous poster that [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f] would also be absolutely adorable nicknames for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. They are more unique since [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is often used as a nickname for the extremely popular names [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f].

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amy[/name_f]
