Nickname and last name don't mesh?

If our next child is a girl, we’ve agreed to name her [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], one of my very favorite names. I love most [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nicknames, especially [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f].
My concern, though, is that our last name is one syllable and begins with L --and “[name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] L__” sounds kind of ridiculous.
Am I overthinking this? Or is this a deal-breaker for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]?

I immediately went to [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] for some odd reason when you said L, one syllable. LOL. Anyway, based on my random name that I made it…it sounds like a comic book character - to some that is a cool thing (my hubby would love that and it wouldn’t cause me to immediately veto) - to others that would be a negative thing. Up to you…and put it with your actual last name and see if it still sounds comic book like. My friend’s last name was [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] and he wanted to name a future boy [name_m]Banner[/name_m] that way when his name was put L, F it would read as [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Banner[/name_m] (The Incredible Hulk). So, that is where my opinion is coming from.

Famous actress - [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] Liu

I don’t think it’s a deal breaker but if for any reason she doesn’t like it, she has her full name or a tonne of other nicknames to use as alternatives.

The alliteration will be cute when she’s little and then she can transition into a more mature sounding combination as she ages.
