I love the name [name_f]Fia[/name_f], meaning flickering fire (according to my name dictionary).
But it’s far too nickname-y for me. As someone who prefers longer, elegant names with shorter, spunkier nicknames, I would love to find one where I can get the nickname [name_f]Fia[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Frida[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], but my mother doesn’t. I know that seems weird, but we’re close and I value her opinion.
I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! It’s very pretty and an underused classic. You can also get the cute nn’s Fi and [name_f]Fifi[/name_f] from her!
Other than that I like the pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Fia[/name_f] is a bit more of a stretch from [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] than it is from [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] but it could work.
I also think the pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] is a great one. [name_f]Fia[/name_f] could definitely be a nn for her, especially with the latter spelling.
we call my niece [name_f]Fia[/name_f], have been since she has been born…she is [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. but, if you don’t want the popular name sophia as a first name, i love the suggestion of [name_f]Fiona[/name_f].
