I think [name_f]Mia[/name_f] would be cute and close to her name.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] is my preferred nickname to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], so it’s naturally what I would gravitate towards for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys think [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] sounds okay? Or is it a tongue twister to say together?
I think it’s fine. It’s no twistier than other M names, which you say both you and your husband also sport.
The only other two I would consider would be [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Maizie[/name_f]. [name_f]Maizie[/name_f] is kind of a stretch, but [name_f]Maya[/name_f] could work if you don’t super dig [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. All the other’s feature L’s on top of M’s, and then it gets really twisty. For instance, I’m tripping over myself to say [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is actually the most intuitive, but sounds a little close to [name_m]Milo[/name_m]. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] works, too.
I voted for [name_f]Maizie[/name_f], but honestly the rest feel like quite a stretch as a nickname for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f].
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is on my list with [name_u]Marley[/name_u] as a nickname
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] is my first preference and my second choice is [name_f]Molly[/name_f], but I think it’d be better spelled [name_f]Mali[/name_f] (even though yes, I know that’s the same as the country).
[name_f]Maizie[/name_f] doesn’t make any sense to me.
I love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] but it doesn’t make sense for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Mali[/name_f] is nice but I say it mar-lee.
I prefer [name_f]Mia[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] is not a tongue twister to me but I think it could be for some.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] is my favorite nn for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] niece is amelia and her nick name is [name_f]Meli[/name_f] (mel lee) It’s different than your options but I like it.
I love [name_f]Mali[/name_f] as a standalone and it makes the most sense as a nn for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though they sound the same, [name_f]Molly[/name_f] has always felt bland and hokey to me but [name_f]Mali[/name_f] has a stylish, exotic-yet-familiar feel. I get the same vibe from [name_m]Milo[/name_m], so [name_m]Milo[/name_m] & [name_f]Mali[/name_f] are a perfect pair.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f] would be my two picks. If you’re pronouncing [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] as “MAHL” in the second syllable, then [name_f]Molly[/name_f] makes sense because it’s similar in sound.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thoughts before seeing the poll was [name_f]Mally[/name_f] (MAHL-[name_m]LY[/name_m]) or [name_f]Lia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] makes the most sense but it theory they could all work, though people could assume her name is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
I like molly the best for a nickname.
[name_f]Maizie[/name_f], all the others sound too much like [name_m]Milo[/name_m]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if that is your taste (and I extremely dislike it personally) it’s impractical. [name_f]Imagine[/name_f] yelling these names out together and wouldn’t the kids always get confused about who you were talking about in noisy environments?
