We’re considering boy names, and [name_m]Cypress[/name_m] is one of our top contenders, but I know it would end up shortened because my older kids are huge nicknamers. I’m dead set against Cy, Cype, [name_m]Press[/name_m], etc - basically anything that you can pull easily out of it lol
We may end up using a middle name for nickname potential, but I wondered what creative ideas you all have for this one.
My only ideas would be calling him my his first and middle initial, or maybe [name_m]Russ[/name_m], since the end is pronounced more like ‘russ’ than ‘ress’ anyways. I could see [name_f]Perry[/name_f] or [name_m]Per[/name_m] (pronounced like ‘pair’) working too. If you like a more stretchy option, all the letters for [name_m]Percy[/name_m] are there. Or you could do something that could apply for a broad spectrum of names, [name_m]Chip[/name_m], [name_m]Kit[/name_m], [name_f]Pip[/name_f], or [name_m]Pippin[/name_m]. I really like the previous suggestion of [name_m]Russ[/name_m].
A few ideas that haven’t been suggested yet are [name_m]Cass[/name_m], [name_m]Essie[/name_m], [name_m]Cress[/name_m], or CJ (it works better with a J middle or surname but I think you could get away with it regardless)
I’ll also admit I think it will be difficult to prevent people from occasionally calling him Cy.

Russ or Rusty and Percy were really my only ideas, but I love @AcutePunubiris Kitt’s idea of Pippin and @greyblue Grace’s idea of Reese! You could probably do Cyrus but at that point why not just use Cyrus lol. Other stretchy nns I thought of:
