Nickname for Debra

[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter will be named [name_f]Debra[/name_f] after my mom who passed away a couple of years ago. I know it’s outdated but it means a lot to us; however, we’d like to find a fun nickname. Suggestions? I’d thought about [name_f]Debbie[/name_f], [name_f]Debi[/name_f], or [name_f]Debby[/name_f] but am open to others. I’m not a big fan of “Bee”. Thanks so much!

It’s not a name with a lot of nickname options and you already listed the other common nickname for it.

[name_f]Ebba[/name_f]
[name_f]Dee[/name_f]
Ebby
Dede/Deedee/Didi
[name_f]Bebe[/name_f] (if you don’t like [name_f]Bee[/name_f], it might not work though)
[name_f]Honey[/name_f] (from meaning ‘Bee’)
[name_f]Bizzy[/name_f] (from [name_f]Busy[/name_f] Bee)

I don’t know what middle you’re going for, but it might be fun to get one from there. e.g:

[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] ‘Dessie’ ‘Dell’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] ‘Dell’ ’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] ‘Dune’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] ‘Daisy’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] ‘Bradie’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] ‘Dani’ ‘Deni’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] ‘Dodie’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] ‘Demi’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_u]Holly[/name_u] ‘Dolly’
[name_f]Debra[/name_f] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] ‘Dottie’

I really like [name_f]Debi[/name_f]! Sort of a fresh spin on the name. Nothing wrong with the classic Debbie/Debby though!! Another cute one could be “Dot” :relaxed:

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name! I like just [name_f]Deb[/name_f] the best. [name_f]Debi[/name_f] is a cute spelling. Of course any D name can [name_f]Dee[/name_f].

Debi/Debbie is so cute. Maybe Brady/Bradee?

[name_f]Debby[/name_f] / [name_f]Deb[/name_f] / [name_f]Debbie[/name_f] comes intuitive, and also [name_f]Dee[/name_f] comes quiet intuitive too!

Ebby and [name_f]Dede[/name_f] can also work without being too stretchy, I think!

[name_f]Bee[/name_f] would’ve been nice. [name_f]Ebba[/name_f] was my other idea? I think she’s sweet. I would also suggest [name_f]Evie[/name_f] if you were open to nns inspired by the Hebrew form Dvora/Devora.

I’d go with [name_f]Didi[/name_f], [name_f]Dee[/name_f] …or dare I say, [name_u]Berry[/name_u]?

[name_f]Debi[/name_f] is adorable and straightforward. Deeba? [name_f]Diva[/name_f]? [name_f]Deb[/name_f]?

This is way out of left field, but you might be able to get away with [name_f]Dot[/name_f]

Thank you all so much for your responses!

Inspired by others’ use of the letters to get [name_u]Brady[/name_u] / [name_f]Bradee[/name_f], I twisted some letters to arrive at

[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
(A - last letter, R - second to last letter, E - second letter).

Also, a stretchy option: [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] / [name_u]Beck[/name_u] / [name_f]Bex[/name_f].
[name_u]Beckett[/name_u] also has a bee meaning.

[name_f]Bre[/name_f] / [name_f]Brie[/name_f]
(B - third letter, R - second to last letter, E - second letter)
