I like [name_m]Ram[/name_m]! I like Ef, too, but [name_m]Ram[/name_m] sounds like such an apt nickname for a cute stubborn little boy.
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]…I like the way you chose to pronounce it.
I would avoid Eff, even though it sounds cool, someone will use it offensively.
[name_m]Ram[/name_m] is pretty cute.
Fray…like [name_u]Ray[/name_u] with an f
Or maybe even [name_m]Ry[/name_m]/[name_u]Rai[/name_u] (like rye bread)
I was going to say Rummy.
My favourite nn for Ephraim is Remy. It’s pretty much the only one I could think of, that I didn’t mind on a boy. Ephy (Effie) is an option, but I only like it for a girl personally. I didn’t think of F word etc. with Eph. Middles will probably open up some options. I love Ephraim btw!
[name_m]Ram[/name_m] works.
[name_u]Remy[/name_u] is cute.
Where I grew up, [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] was traditionally pronounced EE-free-yum, so I think [name_u]Free[/name_u] is a really cool nn for [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], even though I say EFF-rum now, too.
[name_u]Remy[/name_u] or [name_u]Free[/name_u] would get my vote, I think.
Good luck!
Thanks for all your responses!!
I love the idea of Fray!
What do you all think of Ephry??? (Like [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] but without the J). Not sure how best to spell it - Ephry/Effry/Effrey/Ephrey/Ephri/Ephrie etc
I’d wait and choose a nn based on the kid’s personality or interests, or a diminutive of the father’s name.
My first instinct would be to use “E” or [name_u]Remy[/name_u]
I had an uncle known as Eph pronounced Ee-p
