Nickname for Holiday?

I am suddenly loving [name]Holiday[/name] for a girl, to go with my [name]Henry[/name] (sometimes known as [name]Atlas[/name], his middle).

Can anyone think of a nickname besides the obvious [name]Hollie[/name]/y?

Is it too “unique” to match the classic [name]Henry[/name]? I went with classic fn and unique middle with my son, so wonder if [name]Holiday[/name] is better suited as a mn to match this style? But I am loving the idea of another H first name, and the quirkiness of [name]Holiday[/name] is appealing to me! Are they too matchy?

Also, what do you think of [name]Atlas[/name] and [name]Holiday[/name]? Too vacation-y sounding together?

Perhaps I am talking myself right out of loving [name]Holiday[/name]. But it is so cute and spunky!

Your thoughts are appreciated!

Looking at your son’s name and the names in your signature, [name]Holiday[/name] is definitely better suited as a middle name. [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Holiday[/name] are incredibly mismatched yet still look and sound matchy.

Liddy?

I am infatuated with [name]Holiday[/name], but unfortunately I don’t think it goes with [name]Henry[/name] at all. Liddy is a good nn besides holly.

I have a soft spot for [name]Holiday[/name] too- i love that its [name]Holly[/name] Golightly’s full name in Breakfast at Tiffanys. I think it could work with [name]Henry[/name], it would bring out the quirky, indie side of [name]Henry[/name]. I can’t think of any new nicknames though, sorry.

Hmm…
I love [name]Holiday[/name] it’s a gorgeous choice! Concerning a nickname I like the idea of [name]Hallie[/name] as a nickname it doesn’t feel so seasonal which [name]Hollie[/name] does with the name [name]Holiday[/name] the whole thing screams [name]Christmas[/name]. Whereas [name]Hallie[/name] doesn’t and yet still works. I also like [name]Day[/name] as a nickname, but in all honestly [name]Holiday[/name] doesn’t really need a nickname. For instance I’m [name]Victoria[/name] and normally always called [name]Victoria[/name]. In a way I do think [name]Holiday[/name] is too unique for [name]Henry[/name], just because [name]Henry[/name] is such a classic and [name]Holiday[/name] is far too out-there, furthermore they are a little bit matchy. I love the fact that you went for a unique middle name and a classic first name, I think [name]Holiday[/name] works perfectly as a middle name especially as it ties in with [name]Atlas[/name] I love the whole vacation thing! It’s such a subtle way to connect them. To be honest I understand the appeal of having another ‘H’ name but if you do have any more children the ‘h’ thing could be limiting. So if I was you I’d use [name]Holiday[/name] as a middle name.

Such an adorable name!

Nicknames for [name]Holiday[/name] could be:

[name]Hollie[/name]
Oli
[name]Lida[/name]
Liddy
[name]Ida[/name]
[name]Day[/name]

A stretch:

[name]Hilda[/name]
[name]Lia[/name]

I think you are right about it being great for the middle spot, and I especially love your suggestion of [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Holiday[/name]! So adorable!

I think you are right about it being great for the middle spot, and I especially love your suggestion of [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Holiday[/name]! So adorable!

I also like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Holiday[/name] (I prefer the “z” spelling), [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Holiday[/name], [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Holiday[/name], and [name]Ramona[/name] [name]Holiday[/name]

[name]Ida[/name] and Oli ([name]Ollie[/name]) are inspired options, thank you! I especially adore [name]Ollie[/name]. I love [name]Holiday[/name] as is, but am also a big fan of cute interesting nicknames.

[name]Daisy[/name]

[name]Holiday[/name] is on my list and I’d call her [name]Daisy[/name]/[name]Daysie[/name]

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Holiday[/name] and I think it’s cute with [name]Henry[/name]! If you’re loving it I say you’ve got to go for it all the way with the FN spot. Of course you’re talking to someone who is planning on naming her daughter [name]Sunday[/name]. As far as nn goes everyone for me says it has to be sunny (but I’m not a fan) so I am planning on days/daze which just so happens to work for holiday too

Oh I love [name]Daisy[/name]! Thank you!

You have a point about going all the way for it! But with my baby boy, we didn’t do that (which is why [name]Atlas[/name] is in the mn spot instead of first) - but in practice we call him by his middle at least as much as his first.

Days is cute!

And [name]Sunday[/name] is adorable, btw!

Funny you mention your mn for [name]Henry[/name]. Seeing your combo around nameberry made me fall in love with [name]Atlas[/name]. I’ve been trying to talk hubby into it. You’re my inspiration there!!

That’s so nice to hear, thank you! I love [name]Atlas[/name] it was the name both my husband and I couldn’t go without. I had been a little worried it was too unique, but (at least where we live in Oregon) he fits right in with other babies we know [name]Athena[/name], [name]Hero[/name], [name]Free[/name], Aslan, etc. [name]Even[/name] my parents who were most against [name]Atlas[/name] call him that now more than [name]Henry[/name]. Though we do call him both very regularly.

Other dads in particular always comment on what a cool name [name]Atlas[/name] is. I love it though because it is a strong name but has a soft sound. We occasionally get the “he’s going to be a strong boy to hold up the world” comments which get old, especially because I most love the idea of a skinny quirky smart boy [name]Atlas[/name] - though my son so far is a bit of a bruiser. But I suppose there are worse things than strength, especially since there are so many kinds of it.

Anyway, good luck with your baby and naming adventures!

I love the name [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] but it is hard to pair with middle names! (btw I love [name_f]Poet[/name_f] from your signature!)
At a stretch [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] could be used ([name_f]Holiday[/name_f]–Lady–Ladybird) which I love because animal nicknames are favourites of mine. X

I agree that [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] works better as a middle with the other names on your list ([name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Poet[/name_f], btw!). I like Liddy. It was the only other idea I had. [name_f]Holly[/name_f]'s cute, but I love Liddy!

[name_f]Love[/name_f] Liddy!

My first thought was Liddy.

I agree, [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] might make a better middle name so it’s no too tourist-guide oriented. [name_f]Leda[/name_f] might be nice, as a nickname.
