Nickname for Hope?

My baby sister’s name is [name]Hope[/name], and i’m trying to find a cute nickname for it!
The only name i’ve come up with is Hopey, which isnt that cute!
Help! Thanks!

My name is [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hope[/name], but I’ve gone by Hopey my entire life. It doesn’t feel like a nickname to me, since I write it on my papers and everyone calls me Hopey. At times I dislike my name, but in general, I love its uniqueness.
([name]Even[/name] less conventional nicknames are those my dad came up with: Hopey-la, Aich-ee-poo [H.E.Poo], and from the [name]Paul[/name] McCartney song, Hopeofdeliverancefromthedarknessthatsurroundsus!) Probably not too helpful, but [name]Hope[/name] is a lovely name in and of itself and rarely needs a nickname.

I love the name [name]Hope[/name]! Congratulations on your new baby sister. If you don’t like Hopey, what about [name]Hopper[/name]? You could call her Grasshopper or simply [name]Hopper[/name].

Good luck!

I might call her [name]Hope[/name]-a-la. You can spell it somehow different if you want to write it, Hopela, for instance. I heard someone use an endearment like [name]Suse[/name]-a-la to instead of saying [name]Susan[/name], draw out [name]Sue[/name] kinda fancy-like. I think it would work with [name]Hope[/name]. Or something you could make up, like [name]Hope[/name]-er-ella, [name]Hope[/name]-a-lally, use your imagination. Or if she has any prominent personal qualities, you could nickname her like that, [name]Happy[/name] [name]Hope[/name] or, you know Hopey isn’t bad - I like the story of [name]Elizabeth[/name] “Hopey” [name]Hope[/name]. Hopey is indeed a fine choice.

Congratulations on your new baby sister! [name]Hope[/name] is such a cute name, and I think Hopey is so sweet. You could call her Hoppy, or Hoopy, too. I like the suggestion of Hoop-a-la!

I used to call my husband Hoopy most of the time when we were a lot younger. It was fun to say. Now I call him Ha and Haha. And Umpy and Umpa. He really likes Haha.

I try to remember to only call him funny nicknames at home.

My daughter and I think that [name]Hope[/name] should be [name]Hope[/name], not Hopey, etc. at school.

My name is [name]Hope[/name], and to be honest, I hate it. There is pretty much nothing worse. I go by [name]Hope[/name] at school, and only certain people are allowed to call me Hopi. There really aren’t any GOOD nicknames for it. It’s just to short. What about a middle name? You may be able to call her that, or a shortened version of it. Take [name]Nicole[/name], You could call her [name]Nicci[/name].

It’s a stretch, but Spanish for [name]Hope[/name] is [name]Esperanza[/name]. You could get [name]Essie[/name], maybe [name]Peri[/name], Ranza (?) from that. Maybe [name]Dream[/name] and Dreamy, from “hopes and dreams”. I think with nn’s it’s good to get creative, I’m a [name]Jessica[/name] and had a home-only nickname of [name]Nina[/name] for a long time (there’s a story to it), in hindsight it’s a beautiful name I could have tried to own, except as much as I feel like [name]Jessica[/name] doesn’t exactly suit me (thankfully, [name]Jess[/name] does), [name]Nina[/name] probably suits me even less : D.

Good luck and congrats on the new baby sister!

Actually looking at my post, I realize Hopes is plausible and possibly cuter than Hopey, Hopi etc…

Bit of a late contribution but, my name is [name]Hope[/name]. I get called, Hopester, soapy and Hopesy (my middle initial being C but it sounds like [name]Hope[/name]-sy) My family have a tendency of just using words that rhyme with our names, that’s why I get soapy, and my little brother [name]Jake[/name] gets shakey.
