Nickname for Joseph?

I’m really digging the name [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] lately, but I was wondering if the nn. Zeph could work for it? Is it too much of a stretch to use “Zeph” instead of “Seph”? I love [name_m]Joe[/name_m]/[name_u]Joey[/name_u] as nicknames too, but I like to pick names that have many nicknaming options so that I can mix it up every once and a while.

Zeph is cute but I like [name_u]Joey[/name_u]. You could also also use [name_u]Joss[/name_u].

I think Zeph would be fine. I knew a Seph once. Everyone thought it name was [name_u]Seth[/name_u], but it wasn’t bad.

Thanks for the responses!

@whirligig: Unfortunately, I can’t use [name_u]Joss[/name_u] because I have a close family member who already has that nickname (his name is [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], but he’s always gone by [name_m]Jos[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Josh[/name_m]). I do like it a lot though!

I think Zeph is a cool nickname to have. I used to know a Seph and I always though it looked a bit weird and incomplete. Zeph looks right to me.

Zeph is cool. I know a little boy named [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] who is usually called [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. I think it’s kind of cute using a girl’s nickname on a boy but it might not age well.

Thanks for all the positive responses, everyone!
I really love Zeph as a nickname so this just makes [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] even more appealing. Definitely adding it to my list now!

My son [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] usually goes by Zep, sometimes Zeph and my husband likes calling him [name_m]Zeppelin[/name_m] just for fun.
