I like your name choices! All I can really think of is [name_u]Mal[/name_u]. But I don’t think [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] necessarily needs a nickname, either. I had a [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] in my class throughout elementary school, and we always called him by his full name.

I’ve seen [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] nn [name_f]Mali[/name_f]. Not sure of the exact pronounciation but I guess Mal-ee or Mar-lee would both be acceptable pronounciations.
