Nickname for Molly

[name_f]My[/name_f] dd is 18 months old and her name is [name_f]Molly[/name_f].
I feel like I was pressurised into choosing a name quickly after she was born and have regretted it ever since. I just don’t feel like the name suits her. I live in [name_f]England[/name_f] and hear it quite often where I live so it puts me off even more.
I need some help in finding a nickname which I could use instead which isn’t too disconnected to [name_f]Molly[/name_f].

Her middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

Thank you!

You could combine [name_f]Molly[/name_f] with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to get
[name_u]Mel[/name_u]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] (M. E.)

Or do some other common M- nicknames
[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]
[name_f]Mim[/name_f]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f]

Or even [name_u]Olly[/name_u]

[name_f]Molly[/name_f] is a lovely name and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful!
I like the ideas of the pp. You could also try calling her by her middle name or one of her middle names nicknames! So many options, there has to be one that fits her - [name_f]El[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_u]Abbie[/name_u], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Beth[/name_f] - those are all I can think of, but I’m sure there are more!

She has the same name as me! By the by, I think your daughter and I have a great name! [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is great for when you’re a child, spunky when you are a teenager and it still holds it’s own when you are an adult. If she feels differently once she is an adult she could always go by the more serious, but equally lovely, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. But I personally like the name [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and I don’t think I would want to be called anything else.

Nicknames that I get:
[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]
Mol/Mols
[name_f]Leelee[/name_f] (because if the ending ly)

Some other ideas:
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] (Because of her initials)
Some [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] related names such as:
[name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]
[name_f]Effie[/name_f]
[name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f]

Another [name_f]Molly[/name_f] weighing in! It’s a bit tricky finding nicknames for a name that’s already a nickname. I’d incorporate her middle:
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Bess[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Lib[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]-[name_f]Bett[/name_f] (sort of like [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f])

Or, initials - M.E.

[name_u]Mo[/name_u] and [name_m]Moe[/name_m] work, too, and can be lengthened out to Moesy as well.

I usually just get called [name_f]Moll[/name_f] and Molls, though.

I never had to contend with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] as an overly popular name. It’s been around number 100 my whole life where I live - familiar but not ubiquitous. [name_m]Even[/name_m] where it’s more popular I think it’s a name your little one will be glad you gave her!
