Nickname for Silvia: Silvie or Vivi

Which do you like more as a nickname for Silvia: Silvie or Vivi? Her older sister is Matilda.

We know that if we eventually send her to school as a Silvie (rather than a Silvia) she’d have to deal with the Sylvie assumption. We think, though, she’ll be a full Silvia and the Silvie or Vivi nickname will just be for home use.

[name_f]Silvie[/name_f] feels more intuitive, though [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] totally works too! I could picture myself even smooshing them and calling her Sivvie or Silly!

[name_f]Vivi[/name_f] is cute and spunky, but [name_f]Silvie[/name_f] is definitely a lot more intuitive. I feel like [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] would be the type of nickname you’d need to introduce [name_f]Silvia[/name_f] as to get it to stick, if that makes sense.

I absolutely love Silvia! I like the nickname Vivi a lot, but Silvie works too

I really like both, though have a preference for [name_f]Silvie[/name_f]. As others have said though, I would try out both, and just go with whichever you prefer/feels suits your daughter more.
