Nickname for Thackery?!

My S.O. and I are thinking of using Thackery for our baby boy’s name. It’s been a favorite of mine since childhood (yes, as in the cat-boy from Hocus Pocus…hey inspiration can come from the strangest places right?) We just can’t think of a good nickname to go along with it and I feel like Thackery is a mouthful to say every time you want your child’s attention. If you have any ideas I’d really appeciate them!

(We’re thinking of using [name_u]North[/name_u] as the middle name if that helps!)

I love Hocus Pocus! ([name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is on my list). Thackery [name_u]North[/name_u] is cute!

It’s tough to come up with a nickname. You could go with Binx lol. Thack is strange. Thax, [name_m]Tex[/name_m], [name_m]Tad[/name_m], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]? I’m not sure but I think it might be nickname proof? Maybe [name_u]Kerry[/name_u]? Thackery is good enough on its own.

I could see Thackery [name_u]North[/name_u] being called:
[name_m]Thatch[/name_m]
Hatch
[name_m]Thorn[/name_m]
[name_m]Thor[/name_m]
[name_u]Kerry[/name_u]

I like the ideas of [name_m]Thatch[/name_m] and Thax! You could also just call him “T.”

[name_u]Kerry[/name_u] sounds like the natural choice to me, and I think it’s a lovely warm nickname.

I don’t think a “tha” monosyllable rolls off the tongue like a nickname should.

Key would be a cool option. Maybe Tack for something fun and casual.

“T” is my first thought. [name_m]Ty[/name_m], Tack, [name_u]Terry[/name_u], and [name_m]Tad[/name_m] are my other suggestions.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I really like [name_m]Tad[/name_m], [name_m]Thad[/name_m] and Tack, I hadn’t thought of any of those and they’re all cute/cool!

[name_f]Kiri[/name_f] (like kee-ree)

what about [name_u]Kerr[/name_u]? It’s a dominant sound within Thakery whilst side stepping the th sound which can be problematic/ become f sound if people are lazy.
OR keep in mind that his nickname might be something you find for him when he arrives e.g. My son is [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] ALWAYS in relation to his name but nicknames are plenty: Otter, Otter Pup, Mr Otterton (Zootropolis), Squiggle, Scrummy, the list goes on.
I think for those of us that have loved a name a long time before baby arrives it can be nice for the nickname to evolve naturally when the baby arrives. Someone once said that the name you give your child is an invitation for who you hope they will be but the name they choose to go by is them telling the world who they are, this may mean that you have pet names within the family but no official nickname for cv etc.
Personally we prefer names that do not have natural nicknames so we can use pet names within the family but the name we give our child will be the name they take out into the world.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] some thoughts for you. Good luck x

[name_m]Thatch[/name_m] was the first one that came to my mind!

Thackery sounds like someone who has a lisp saying [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]. [name_m]Tad[/name_m] is a nice nickname, I like that suggestion. This comment isn’t meant to be mean, I just wanted to make sure you have realized how it could sound to some!
