We are naming our baby girl [name]Vanessa[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. I’d like to use [name]Nessa[/name]/[name]Nessie[/name] as a nickname, but I just watched Breaking [name]Dawn[/name] 2, which made me think twice because [name]Bella[/name] associates the nickname [name]Nessie[/name] with [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster! [name]Do[/name] you associate [name]Nessa[/name]/[name]Nessie[/name] with [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster?
I love [name]Nessa[/name]! I would only associate [name]Nessie[/name] with [name]Loch[/name] Ness, unfortunately. But [name]Nessa[/name] is beautiful.
As much as I hate to agree with that vapid, whiny, waste of space of a character, [name]Nessie[/name] does remind me of the [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster as it’s what the [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster is referred to. [name]Nessa[/name] is fine though.
Point of consideration maybe… [name]Nessa[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is the name of Elphaba’s little sister in the book ‘Wicked’.
Nope I do not. I’ve a friend named [name]Vanessa[/name] and she goes by [name]Nessie[/name] and [name]Nessa[/name] a lot. Anyway, what’s so bad about the [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster?
[name]Just[/name] the monster part since [name]Loch[/name] Ness is an actual place. 
Yes, I considered that, but since I’ll never be calling her [name]Nessa[/name] [name]Rose[/name], I don’t think that’s an issue. She’ll either go by her full name - [name]Vanessa[/name] [name]Rose[/name] or just [name]Nessa[/name].
She could always go by [name]Van[/name] or [name]Essa[/name].
I associate it with the [name]Loch[/name] Ness Monster, but I think that it is a great association. I love the nickname [name]Nessie[/name] exactly for that reason!
[name]Nessa[/name] is really pretty! I know a [name]Vanessa[/name] and we call her [name]Vanni[/name] which is really cute too. I would definately associate [name]Nessie[/name] with the [name]Loch[/name] Ness Monster because that is what they call it. I don’t think it’s a bad thing though. Especially kids…would think it’s kind of cool. Also, as she comes into her own personality that would go away and people would only associate the name [name]Nessie[/name] with her 
[name]Nessie[/name] only reminds me of the [name]Loch[/name] Ness after someone else mentions it. I think as far as twilight goes people will forget about the [name]Renesmee[/name] / [name]Nessie[/name] association. [name]Nessa[/name] is a safe bet on a nickname for [name]Vanessa[/name].
I like [name]Nessie[/name]/[name]Nessa[/name] but [name]Annie[/name] could be nice at a push.
No, I associate it with Breaking [name]Dawn[/name] ha-ha! I think [name]Nessa[/name] is the more usable of the two. It doesn’t remind me of the [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster.
I completely associate [name]Nessie[/name] with the [name]Loch[/name] Ness monster, but that’s actually what appeals me to the nickname.
I think it’s adorable.
I tried to sell my husband on [name]Agnes[/name] nn [name]Nessie[/name] for that very reason.
I would use either Ness or [name]Nessa[/name]. They are both beautiful nicknames.

What about just Ness for [name]Vanessa[/name] like [name]Jess[/name] for [name]Jessica[/name]? It reminds me of [name]Nell[/name] for some reason, which I love.
I had a good friend in high school named [name]Vanessa[/name], she went by [name]Vinnie[/name]. She is really spunky and girly, and it really suits her.
