Loving the name [name_m]Watson[/name_m] but finding a nickname has been difficult. [name_f]My[/name_f] S/O and I don’t like Wat, Wattie, or [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]. We were thinking because [name_m]Watson[/name_m] means son of [name_m]Walter[/name_m]/Wat we could use [name_u]Wally[/name_u] which we like but we’re worried it’s too much of a stretch that people will get confused. What do you think? Could [name_u]Wally[/name_u] work as a nickname for [name_m]Watson[/name_m] or is too much of a stretch?
Looking forward to your feedback, thanks in advance!
I think it depends if his nickname is only going to be used occasionally at home, or if he will be known generally by his nickname. I really like [name_m]Watt[/name_m] better than [name_u]Wally[/name_u] but if he is going to be known as [name_u]Wally[/name_u], I would name him something like [name_m]Walter[/name_m] as it would be assumed that that is his name and avoid him always having to explain.
Love [name_m]Watson[/name_m] because of [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m] [name_m]Holmes[/name_m]. Would love to meet triplets named [name_m]Watson[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], and Mycroft!
Yeah though not great nn options as you say. I do love [name_u]Wally[/name_u].
