I don’t feel like it’s a stretch, but it’s not as natural as [name_m]Jas[/name_m] so people are less likely to use it.
What about Jasp or Jaspie? Maybe J (pronounced [name_u]Jay[/name_u])?
I don’t think it’s a stretch, but I don’t think it will be widely used because it’s not as natural. JJ, [name_u]Jay[/name_u], or [name_u]Percy[/name_u] would be cute!
I say [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] as it’s spelt, not [name_m]Jas[/name_m]-[name_f]Pear[/name_f]. So, I’m not a fan of that nickname. Maybe Jassie? [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is a great suggestion!
I think [name_m]Per[/name_m] could work! The [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] I used to know was always nicknamed [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] or [name_m]Jazzy[/name_m].
I have a [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and we just call him Caspie.
How about [name_u]Perry[/name_u] or [name_u]Percy[/name_u]? I also have always liked the idea of [name_u]Jem[/name_u] as a nn for [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
I think [name_m]Per[/name_m] could work though it’s not quite as natural as [name_m]Jas[/name_m]. I think Jasp or Jaspie as others had said could work too
Thank you all for the thoughts! I guess [name_m]Per[/name_m] is not as natural. I like Jasp and Jaspie a lot! And [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is so cute but my oldest said it’s someone bad in [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. Haha.
Oh! Right, right. I do know [name_m]Ron[/name_m]. That’s my 10 year old telling me about [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. I don’t know it so well.
I do really think [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is cute.
Jasper is such a lovely name and not too long so I would actually find it difficult to shorten for them reasons. I think out of all the nicknames I prefer J. The only other name I can think off is [name_u]Jazz[/name_u]/Jazzie but may feel not masculine
I agree and I know what you mean but for example, my daughter [name_u]Parker[/name_u] gets called [name_m]Park[/name_m], my son [name_u]Quentin[/name_u] we call [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. So, I just see a NN happening with us. We only haven’t nicknamed our daughter [name_u]Nico[/name_u] but she’s got a nickname name.
