I love the nickname [name_f]Miri[/name_f] but haven’t found a longer version that I like, such as [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] or [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]. [name_m]Can[/name_m] this be used as a stand-alone name or is it too nicknamey?
if marie and mira work as stand-alones, i don’t see why not miri! it’s cute, but not too cutesy
that said, here are some more ideas for longer versions: mira, any mar- name (maria, margaret, marigold, marisol, marina, maris etc), miranda, minerva, mallory, mireille, myra, myrna, mirren, palmira, almira, mildred, romilly

If you’re not convinced, some more full name ideas could be [name_f]Mira[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Maribel[/name_f], [name_u]Maria[/name_u], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], or even something like Mia-Rose
I once saw a made for tv movie with a baby named [name_f]Miri[/name_f] short for miracle. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a comment, i guess. I like [name_f]Miri[/name_f] on its own the best.
Totally usable as a stand-alone imo! I do love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] “Miri” if you decide to go for a long form, but if you don’t feel enthusiastic about it I definitely vote [name_f]Miri[/name_f] on its own.
I think it works as a stand-alone! I first encountered [name_f]Miri[/name_f] in a mid-grade book series (by [name_u]Shannon[/name_u] Hale?) so I see it as a full name already. Nickname names are also very popular (Allie, [name_u]Lexie[/name_u], [name_f]Betty[/name_f], ect), so I think it could stand on its own very well.
Standalone is totally fine. 
Why have a full name if you only plan to use the nickname, right?
I think [name_f]Miri[/name_f] can work. It fits in with other “nicknamey” names
I quite like it as a stand alone. [name_f]Miri[/name_f] is cute. I am a person who totally believes in just naming the kid what you want to name them, not worrying about the more “proper” full name. Obviously there are exceptions, but in this case I think [name_f]Miri[/name_f] is fine.

i think miri works on its own !! i really like it - it has such a lovely, versatile vibe, and is great update for marie. i used to know a miri (just miri)

It could be used as a stand alone but I think it works better as a nickname. Of course, if you don’t think you’re going to use the full name at all, you’re better off going with the nickname itself.
