I’ve been mulling over nicknames for [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and aside from the obvious ones I really like shortened versions of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] since the names come from the same mythology. Is this too much of a stretch?
I guess you could call her Persephone as a sort of cool alias - and she might choose to use it beyond that and it then might lead to more nicknames? I do think it would take some explaining / justifying and might not stick so easily though? and I guess my thought would be 'why not just use Persephone (or whatever short form of it you like?)
Potentially nn Posie might work though (since it feels a bit like Petal or Honey or Birdie - could work with lots of names?) That makes me think of Cosie / Cosy as a nickname too ![]()
Yes, I agree. Also, I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] would work as a sibset so maybe save one or the other for a potential future child.
It doesn’t make sense to me to be honest, I’m sorry!
As a name and mythology nerd? Cool!
[name_f][/name_f]As a random citizen, it’s too stretchy imho ![]()
I generally think you can do whatever you want for nicknames but I don’t think most people will follow this and will ask a lot of questions about where you’re getting it from. That doesn’t have to be a deal breaker but will be a frequent thing.
I’ve seen Sephie used as a nn for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]!
