I’m really liking [name_u]Adair[/name_u] again lately, but the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f] is holding me back.
I do not want the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f] - what others can you suggest? All I came up with was Dairy…
So I clearly need help.
In all honestly, I wouldn’t use a nickname for [name_u]Adair[/name_u]. It’s short, easy to recognize and a perfectly fine name on its own.
Airy is all I could come up with. I agree with the pp; [name_u]Adair[/name_u] doesn’t scream “too long! I need a nickname!”
Daira could work…not necessarily any shorter of a name though. [name_f]Aira[/name_f], [name_f]Aida[/name_f], [name_f]Dair[/name_f]? I immediately thought of [name_f]Addy[/name_f] and quite like the idea. I honestly prefer the nickname [name_f]Addy[/name_f]/[name_f]Addie[/name_f] to the name [name_u]Adair[/name_u]. I find it more feminine. You could always connect the dots with the middle name and come up with something a but more creative that way, using the first or first few letters of both names together.
I agree with the others - I don’t think [name_u]Adair[/name_u] needs a nickname. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] could work, though.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] was the one that came to mind.
I definitely don’t think it needs a nickname. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] wouldn’t come to mind though, if I had to think of one. It’s such a short name and easy to say, I can’t see shortening it
There was a blog I read once (i think it was on Nameberry) that talked about an [name_u]Adair[/name_u] nicknamed Dare, which is another option.
I agree–I never would have thought to give [name_u]Adair[/name_u] a nn! I think it stands just fine on its own. Personally, I love [name_f]Addy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ari[/name_u], so I’d probably use either one of those. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is nice, too, though.

Thank you, I’ll have to see if my girls can pronounce it as it’s own name. I didn’t want to use a nickname, but I try to have something in place to push my girls towards saying if they can’t say the whole name ( they are just turned 3 and 1-1/2 ) 
I do prefer [name_u]Adair[/name_u] on its own!
