In my story, there is one family who has a tradition of naming the firstborn son Aksel, but they all go by different nicknames (kind of like families with lots of Williams, but they are called Bill, Billy, Will, and Liam). The only problem is that I can’t think of very many nicknames! So far I have Aks/Akse/Axe and Paks/Pax.
So, please throw all the ideas you have at me! I don’t mind if they are stretchy, so long as they are based on the name Aksel.

I know a boy named [name_m]Aksel[/name_m] and everyone calls him [name_u]Aki[/name_u] or Aks. I think Ako, Ak, [name_f]Essie[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], Kie, [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], Kes, [name_f]Kessie[/name_f], Akehs, [name_u]Sal[/name_u], [name_u]Lex[/name_u] would fit this name too. He is usually mistaken with [name_u]Alex[/name_u] so maybe you can call him [name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_m]Alexei[/name_m], Alexie, [name_f]Elexis[/name_f], [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], [name_m]Alessio[/name_m], [name_m]Xan[/name_m], [name_m]Zander[/name_m], [name_m]Xander[/name_m], [name_m]Xaver[/name_m], [name_m]Xavier[/name_m], [name_u]Lexie[/name_u], [name_u]Lexis[/name_u].

A few fun ones I thought of are Chopper (like because of axe), Wheels or [name_m]Wheeler[/name_m] (because of an axle on a car), and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], or [name_m]Gunnar[/name_m] / [name_m]Gunner[/name_m] (because of [name_u]Axel[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and Guns n’ Roses). You could also use Sel or Selly / Sellie.
