[name_f]My[/name_f] SO and I are talking about baby names and we have agreed that if we have a girl, she will be [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Joelle[/name_f]. We chose this because she will be named after 4 inspiring and very strong women in our family.
We are having a difficult time deciding on a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. He likes [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] or [name_f]Liz[/name_f], which I am not crazy about. I like [name_f]Liza[/name_f] or [name_f]Bette[/name_f], but he doesn’t care for either those. We’re both on the fence about [name_f]Beth[/name_f]. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] are off the table.
I love [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is well! I also like [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and [name_f]Beth[/name_f]! But [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is my favorite!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite nicknames are [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and I love the meaning behind it!

[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
I met little girl one time who went by [name_u]Abby[/name_u], which I didn’t understand until she explained that it was because of ElizABeth. Most Elizabeths I have met go by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Beth[/name_f], though.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite nn for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is [name_f]Libby[/name_f], which sort of splits the different between you and your SO imo (I know it’s already been mentioned, just wanted to put in another vote!) I like lots of the other suggestions you’ve gotten too, especially [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] is really interesting and sweet too!
Libby! Seems natural for you. [name_f]My[/name_f] other favorites are [name_f]Bess[/name_f] and [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], but they might not appeal to your SO if [name_f]Bette[/name_f] didn’t.
How about a compromise between [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] and [name_f]Bette[/name_f] = [name_f]Libby[/name_f]?
I personally adore the name [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] for a little girl, but it’s a name she may not want to go by as an adult so [name_f]Liz[/name_f] would be the obvious if she chooses not to go by [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f].
If you want to avoid [name_f]Liz[/name_f], then I would go with something else, like [name_f]Libby[/name_f] which I think ages better than [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f].
Other options are [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lissie[/name_f] (though I’d spell it [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] in this case), [name_f]Lissa[/name_f], [name_u]Lisa[/name_u], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f].
Hmm, what an interesting way to get to [name_u]Abby[/name_u]. I actually kinda like it. One of the reasons I like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is because it’s so versatile, but admit I never would have thought of [name_u]Abby[/name_u].
What about [name_f]Ella[/name_f]? I love it as a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Have you consider, Zebbie, you could probably go for Ette or [name_f]Etta[/name_f] too?
