I’m currently pondering the name [name_f]Esther[/name_f], particularly nicknames. I’ve only ever heard [name_f]Essie[/name_f] in real life, but I’m not too much of a fan. I thought of [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - are those too much of a stretch from [name_f]Esther[/name_f]? Any other ones to consider?
If I ever had an [name_f]Esther[/name_f], I’d call her [name_f]Esti[/name_f].
[name_f]Tess[/name_f] isn’t bad at all. I can see that. If you start calling her that more than [name_f]Esther[/name_f], though, people might assume she’s [name_f]Theresa[/name_f]. I once knew an [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] who went by [name_f]Bella[/name_f] so much that they called her [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] in the yearbook. Oops!

I know an [name_f]Esther[/name_f], but we call her by her full name… I have never thought of it as a name to shorten. To me [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is a name in itself and doesn’t sound at all related to [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Essie[/name_f] or [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or probably your best options.
[name_f]Esti[/name_f] is very cute. So is [name_f]Essie[/name_f]. [name_f]Tess[/name_f] could work, but I think it’s too far off.
I like the nickname [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or [name_f]Etti[/name_f] [name_f]Esti[/name_f] is ok as well!
I could totally see [name_f]Tess[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s too far off at all.
My favorite nickname for [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is [name_f]Essie[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Tess[/name_f], but lately I’ve been into [name_f]Thea[/name_f], which I think could work here!
