We pronounced it like “fah-tee” but I see what you mean
[name_f]Fatou[/name_f] is also used as a full name in some [name_u]West[/name_u] African countries.
[name_f]Fatima[/name_f] is such and lovely and meaningful name, but the “fat” beginning is potentially difficult in an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking context (even though I know it’s “fah”-tee-ma), so I think [name_m]Tima[/name_m] is a really great option as a nickname.
