[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,
I’m not sold on Flo or Florie, are there other options I’m not thinking of?
Thanks!
[name_f]Lori[/name_f]
[name_f]Flor[/name_f]
[name_f]Effie[/name_f]
[name_f]Fifi[/name_f]
[name_f]Lolo[/name_f]
Lo
[name_f]Lora[/name_f]
Lolli
[name_f]Lolo[/name_f], [name_f]Lora[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f].
I would personally not use a nickname with such a short name. But I am not much of a nicknamer.
If I were to nickname [name_f]Flora[/name_f] (but I probably wouldn’t), I’d go for [name_f]Aura[/name_f] (from [name_f]Ora[/name_f]), which is my go to nickname for the many -ora names I like.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] want to add [name_f]Lore[/name_f]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lolo[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f], and [name_f]Effie[/name_f]!
Folly is pretty funky Foo or Fou is also neat.
Could Bloom work?
Same here. If you really want a formal name with a nn, then you could use [name_f]Florence[/name_f] nn [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
I know a [name_f]Flora[/name_f] who generally doesn’t have a nickname, though she does occasionally go by [name_f]Flo[/name_f].
Some other options could be:
- [name_f]Flossie[/name_f]
- [name_f]Effie[/name_f]
- [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
- [name_f]Ora[/name_f]
I do wonder though if such a short name really needs a nickname? If you’re really keen on nicknaming I liked another poster’s idea of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] nn [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
I agree with with lovemyaweeties and emmamay - I would always use [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. If I had to use nn - it would be the Dutch name [name_f]Flor[/name_f] - which I find absolutely beautiful.
I think as [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is so short, a nickname will either come naturally or not be used at all as there are non that are either very intuitive, sweeter or shorter than [name_f]Flora[/name_f] apart from [name_f]Flo[/name_f], [name_f]Florrie[/name_f] or [name_f]Flor[/name_f].
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]? (Leading on from the flower theme?) Although I would agree with pp that flora doesn’t need a nickname however I do like [name_f]Florence[/name_f] nn flora.
