Hello! I’ve been using Hyacinth as my chosen English name for awhile now but I want a nickname for Hyacinth other than Cynthia/Cynth/Cindy or Hy/Hiya :frowning: Seems really hard. Thank you!

[name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is such a lovely name! [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought for a nickname was Inny. It’s a tricky one to find direct nicknames for, but maybe [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_m]Han[/name_m], [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], [name_f]Yana[/name_f], or Yaz? I also second [name_f]Aya[/name_f], [name_f]Cici[/name_f], and [name_m]Ace[/name_m].

No one’s mentioned it, but my first instinct for what to call a [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] would be [name_f]Hassie[/name_f] / Haci! Like [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] but with an H, from the “Hyaci” sound but without the Y.

I love [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]! I’ve always thought [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is a great nickname for [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] (the sounds are close though the spelling is a stretch…, I’ve seen it spelled Haidi in other languages, which is closer).

As you’ve noticed, [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is nickname resistant. [name_f]Aya[/name_f] feels like the most natural shortening to me by a long shot.
