I’m having a bit of trouble finding nicknames for [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], I like [name_f]Immy[/name_f] but I have [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmi[/name_f]) on my list and [name_f]Immy[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmi[/name_f] are far too close for sisters. I know that some nicknames aren’t even related to the original names but I would like to have at least one choice for [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] because it’s a three syllable name. So some suggestions would be really helpful.
[name_f]My[/name_f] friend [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] goes by Moggy. Also going to suggest [name_f]Genna[/name_f], [name_u]Mo[/name_u] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]
@steampunkleo - Moggy is adorable! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nicknames for [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] are [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]; though they may be too much of a stretch for you, OP.
[name_f]Gen[/name_f] is cute. So is Idgie. [name_m]Iggie[/name_m] is a bit funky but could work on the right girl.
You could call [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Millie[/name_f]? [name_f]Immy[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Gen[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]?
I like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] a lot more than [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] so if I had to choose…
[name_f]Midge[/name_f]! Probably not any one else’s style but I love [name_f]Midge[/name_f] and I could see it working as a nn for [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
sadly I’ve never actually known any Imogens that go by [name_f]Midge[/name_f], only [name_f]Immy[/name_f] and [name_u]Mo[/name_u].
I like Imma, [name_f]Imo[/name_f], & [name_u]Mo[/name_u]. You could also make up a nickname for her that isn’t necessarily derived from [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] but is more of a pet name. E.g. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
I have [name_f]Midge[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], as I don’t really like [name_f]Immy[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] names. [name_f]Midge[/name_f] is kinda cute too.
Ooh I like this thread! I’m having a daughter soon, to be named [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]! I like Immi and and [name_f]Genie[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] almost three year old is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and she is [name_f]Bunny[/name_f] (as she did nothing but jump in our laps as soon as she was strong enough).
In any case, the full names are so different that it doesn’t matter if the nicknames are a bit alike!
I have a beautiful [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], and she has been Idge since before she was born and the name has travelled with her for 16 years, most people don’t know her as [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]!
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Genie[/name_f] (pron. [name_f]Jeannie[/name_f]) as in ‘genie in a bottle’ ? Or if you have a middle name that could be combined with the first name to make a nickname ie our daughter Harriets initials were HAD so we went with Haddie.
You could get [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] or [name_f]Genny[/name_f] from it which is adorable! I have a friend called [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] who goes by [name_u]Mo[/name_u] and I think that’s nice rather than it being used for [name_f]Maureen[/name_f].
