[name]Hi[/name], Everyone! I need some help. My name is [name]Isabella[/name], and I’ve never really loved it, especially with its recent popularity, since I’m older than almost all of the Isabellas I know (14). Anyway, I’m looking for a short form of my name that goes beyond the obvious [name]Izzy[/name] or [name]Bella[/name], since those are getting common too (i know at least 5 little Bellas in my school alone) Right now, people at school call me [name]Izzy[/name] (blagh) which I don’t mind other than the fact that it makes people automatically assume that my name is [name]Isabelle[/name], so…yeah! I’d be grateful for your suggestions! Thanks!
P.s. I probably won’t end up changing it for school, just ecerywhere else, though I do know people who changed their school nicknames and it worked out fine
Oh, and not [name]Isa[/name], because a boy in my class’s sister’s name is [name]Isabella[/name] and they call her [name]Isa[/name], and she’s always hanging around.
[name]Ibby[/name]
[name]Libby[/name]
[name]Sabela[/name] / [name]Sabella[/name]
Sab / Sabby
Ibbot (This is an ooold nickname for [name]Isabella[/name]. In medieval [name]England[/name] that would add -ot or -et to the ends of girls’ names to make nicknames, and Ibbot was used as a nickname for [name]Isabella[/name].)
[name]Sable[/name]
I quite like the idea of [name]Abby[/name] as a nn for [name]Isabella[/name]. Other than that I love the previous suggestions of [name]Ibby[/name], [name]Sable[/name]/[name]Sabel[/name] and Ibbot.
The only ones I can think of that haven’t been mentioned are [name]Sasa[/name]/[name]Zaza[/name] (or even [name]ZsaZsa[/name], haha), [name]Ella[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], or [name]Elle[/name]. Or even just [name]Belle[/name]. I think [name]Belle[/name] sounds so much more grown up than [name]Bella[/name] does.
Thanks for the replies, everyone! I like [name]Sable[/name]/[name]Sabel[/name], [name]Abby[/name], [name]Isla[/name], and [name]Ella[/name]/[name]Ellie[/name]. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention that one of my best friends is naned [name]Libby[/name], which also rules out [name]Ibby[/name] for the same reason. I like the idea of using something to do with [name]Elizabeth[/name], since they mean the same thing. (sorry that was so long )
