If we have a 6th son, I like [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and it would be kinda cool to have a son who is a “junior”.
Besides [name_m]Larry[/name_m], what are some good nicknames? [name_f]My[/name_f] husband likes the nickname [name_u]Ren[/name_u]. I’m not 100% sold on [name_u]Ren[/name_u].
How do you feel about [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]?
@cactusgram, we have a nephew named [name_m]Orin[/name_m] on my husband’s side. [name_m]Lance[/name_m] is a maybe, but he’d be the next-youngest sibling to [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and it would probably annoy me that it would sound like [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m]. But maybe I am crazy.
@katkabet, thank you! [name_u]Ren[/name_u] is still on the table since it’s a rare prospective name indeed that doesn’t inspire at least a little bit of teasing by DH.
[name_u]Lonny[/name_u] is—eh, maybe.
Lawry
[name_m]Oren[/name_m]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - maybe you like it better with this spelling although its the more feminine spelling I like it because it reminds me of the bird
[name_m]Renzo[/name_m]
I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a bit of a stretch. Could you do it as a middle? [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is really cool!
Seconding @Rachelhaydenberk with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] - spelling it this way completely changes the vibe of the name imo and I love it! Plus, the W is already right there in [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] anyway so it’s not a stretch or anything. I really like @hellobanjo’s idea of [name_m]Lars[/name_m] too. How about [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]?
I love the name.
I prefer the “[name_u]Laurence[/name_u]” spelling and the nickname “[name_u]Laurie[/name_u]” as a nod to the book [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women.
@floatinthesky, [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] is okay but I’d rather avoid first initials, even for a nickname (our daughter is [name_f]Elise[/name_f]).
@Dechen, I’m not overly in love with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] since it’s girly to me. [name_u]Ren[/name_u] is even somewhat borderline due to [name_u]Ren[/name_u] & Stimpy, but I’m still hanging onto [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u].
Anybody know a [name_u]Renny[/name_u]? Like [name_u]Remy[/name_u], but [name_u]Renny[/name_u]? I wonder if [name_u]Renny[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] works.
