hello!! i actually just posted on here yesterday and got some wonderful responses. (i posted about names for myself, i am trans.) and i was wondering if anyone on here knew any nicknames for a name i was thinking about using? the name is magnus. (magnus was gonna be my name if i was born a male and i knew my mom would appreciate it if i used it.) and can you give your opinion on magnus and the name thom which is short for thomas? also i know this is probably a long shot but does anyone also have any nicknames for damon? i know if there are any they would be quite short. just thought it would be worth asking. thank u!!much love

for magnus, i’ve heard “gus” a lot, but maybe you could also do something like manny, m (em) or augie? i think it’s a handsome choice! as for damon, dame, d (dee), don, donny, dan, danny, dane, dammy and day come to mind!

[name_m]Magnus[/name_m] is such a brilliant name!! I really love it, but if you really love it, then oh, what a glorious pick! It’s so strong and proud.
I think [name_u]Gus[/name_u] would make a great nickname. Oh I’m tickled by that— it’s so warm and exciting. [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] also comes to mind, which I find adorable, but perhaps it’ll feel a bit too feminine!
[name_m]Thom[/name_m] is also lovely. Looks more whole as a standalone name than [name_m]Tom[/name_m] does, which I like!!
[name_m]Damon[/name_m] is also very nice. [name_f]Damie[/name_f] (pronounced like Jamie), Dame (maybe too femme again, as this world literally means woman!), D, [name_m]Dima[/name_m] (Slavic origin nickname for [name_m]Dmitri[/name_m] which I think totally works here), and [name_u]Mo[/name_u] all come to mind for short names!!

I like [name_u]Max[/name_u] for [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]. It fits meaning wise as well as soundwise!
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m] is awesome! Posters above me already mentioned [name_u]Gus[/name_u], but I also wanted to suggest [name_f]Mags[/name_f]!
As for [name_m]Damon[/name_m], I can see pretty much all nicknames @tallemaja mentioned working.
[name_m]Thom[/name_m] looks a bit “weird” to me as I’m more used to seeing [name_m]Tom[/name_m], but it could definitely work! It would perhaps require a bit more correction but if you really like it it’s worth it.

[name_f]Mags[/name_f], [name_u]Max[/name_u], and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] are all great ideas for [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] -maybe [name_m]Moss[/name_m] or [name_u]Maz[/name_u]?
