Nicknames for Ronan?

Any ideas?

I like the name but can’t think of any viable, masculine nicknames.

I love [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] too. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Ro[/name_f] or Rone?

[name_m]Ron[/name_m], [name_f]Ro[/name_f], [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u], [name_u]Roan[/name_u], [name_m]Roone[/name_m], [name_u]Rue[/name_u], [name_m]Rooney[/name_m], [name_u]Roux[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and this may be pushing it but maybe even [name_m]Rudi[/name_m]?

Why does every name need a nickname? [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is concise and masculine as it is. No nn required.

I agree with @grnberyl that it is concise and masculine as is. [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is a really nice name and I wouldn’t want a nickname.

Because people (e.g. the family) l shorten it whether we like it or not. And I really dislike [name_f]Ro[/name_f], [name_m]Ron[/name_m], and [name_u]Ronny[/name_u]. So if we don’t use a nn ourselves, they will invent one of their own and it may drive me nuts.

Guess I’m alone on this one, so moving on!

My son’s name is [name_m]Ronin[/name_m], I figured Rone was a possible nn, but so far no one has felt the need to shorten it, fwiw.

I like the idea of “Bo” as a nickname for [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]. It would be similar to using [name_u]Bo[/name_u] for [name_u]Robert[/name_u]. [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is a great name! “Ro” as a shortened form kind of ruins it for me. Nip it in the bud with [name_u]Bo[/name_u].
