I love the name [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], but I have no ideas for nicknames :???:

[name_f]My[/name_f] friend has a daughter called [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], who she calls [name_f]Fia[/name_f], which I think is really cute. It would work with either spelling, though [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] lends itself to it more naturally. I would not use [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] - to me they are two completely different names. It really annoys me when people assume my name is [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
Other than [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], my favorites are Phia/[name_f]Fia[/name_f] and [name_f]FiFi[/name_f].
[name_f]FiFi[/name_f] is a cute nickname for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]!
The Sophias in my year usually get [name_f]Soph[/name_f], or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], and I really like Phia, Phi, and [name_f]Fifi[/name_f].
The one [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] I know in real life goes by [name_f]Fia[/name_f]. I’ve heard (on Nameberry, I think, haha) that [name_f]Posy[/name_f] can be a nn for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], which is what I’d try for, since I’ve loved [name_f]Posy[/name_f] for years. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is sweet, too, but obviously predictable. I like [name_u]Fee[/name_u] a lot, though. For some reason, I never liked Fi/Phi, but I think [name_u]Fee[/name_u] is really cute. Almost gender-ambiguous? Maybe that’s why I like it? I generally don’t like unisex FNs (or masculine ones, although there are some exceptions!), but I do like unisex/gender-ambiguous nns (like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] nn [name_f]Leni[/name_f]…). So if not [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], I think [name_f]Posy[/name_f] or [name_u]Fee[/name_u] would get my vote.
