[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys! So DH & I are expecting baby number 2 this fall and just found out that it’s a he. Our daughter is named [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], nn Saff. We’re set to name this little guy [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u], however our only problem is that the obvious nn for it is Zeph, which is too similar to that of our daughter. Could you suggest other nickname possibilities?
You could use [name_f]Zee[/name_f] or [name_m]Zed[/name_m] (depending on where you live)
Or perhaps some variation of [name_u]West[/name_u] from the meaning?
[name_m]How[/name_m] about Zep? I’ve heard it as short for [name_m]Zeppelin[/name_m] before (it was on a pet, but still). I think it works for [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] too. [name_m]Zeb[/name_m] and [name_m]Zed[/name_m] might also be possibilities, even though you’d have to pull the b or d out of thin air.
I think [name_m]Zed[/name_m], which is the same as Z but only certain English speakers use it. Gives a bit more edge with the hard d ending, too!
Fiery? Zer?
Ooh, I love [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]. But I’m not to keen on any of the obvious nicknames. A couple I know recently had a baby boy named [name_m]Zephyrus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]. Maybe you could try something like that too, and use [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] as the nn, or just go with [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] and I’m sure you’ll find the perfect nickname for him eventually.
Good luck!
It seems [name_f]Zee[/name_f] is our best option so far, thanks
I first thought of Zep. I also thought of Zippy which I think is pretty cute - but I’m not sure if it’s too childish or not?
