Nigel?

[name]General[/name] impressions of [name]Nigel[/name]? Would be [name]Nigel[/name] [name]Henry[/name] Drinkwater brother to [name]Daisy[/name] and [name]Joel[/name]. Thanks!

I really like [name]Nigel[/name]. To me it has a definite British vibe, I don’t know where you’re located, but it’s not really a name that you hear too much in the States. It also feels a little bit preppy and intellectual. But I could definitely see a rugged, sporty [name]Nigel[/name] just as well. I guess that means it’s versatile. I think it fits quite nicely with [name]Joel[/name] and [name]Daisy[/name], too. None of the names would stand out to me as being different/odd if I was introduced to your family. Good luck choosing! We’re trying to name our third right now, too.

I don’t mind [name]Nigel[/name] [name]Henry[/name] Drinkwater but I know that [name]Nigel[/name] seems to be an acquired taste for some people. [name]Nigel[/name] is one of those names that are “very British” (eg. [name]Percival[/name], [name]Giles[/name], [name]Rupert[/name], [name]Piers[/name], [name]Clive[/name]) and can sound somewhat pretentious. But maybe I have that opinion because I live in [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name]. If you live in [name]Britain[/name], [name]Nigel[/name] wouldn’t be odd, would he? He’d fit right in! My only concern is that it shares the same ending with [name]Joel[/name]. I realize they’re not pronounced the same so if you don’t mind that similarity and you love it, go for it! Regards, [name]Mischa[/name].

i love [name]Nigel[/name]! i always imagine [name]Nigel[/name] to be a handsome, smart and charming boy.

I am British and [name]Nigel[/name] here is the ultimate snobbish geek name. If you type [name]Nigel[/name] Thornberry into google, he is the quintessential [name]Nigel[/name]!
I don’t think the Brits would ever use [name]Nigel[/name] right now, but maybe the US could bring that back?

I actually kind of like [name]Nigel[/name]. Not something I’d use, but there’s absolutely a charm there.

I really like [name]Nigel[/name] and suggested it to DH for our 2nd son. He vetoed it on the grounds of it being “too English.” It is unusual but familiar. I think it works great in your sibset.

I really like [name]Nigel[/name]. I have a British friend called [name]Nigel[/name], very smart, somewhat unusual (wouldn’t go so far as to say eccentric, on the fun side of interesting!) worldly and pleasant to be around. I know some British people take the micky out of the name, but many are still named it in [name]Britain[/name], so it goes both ways. I think as a different and cool name in the US it would be great, and as he grows up and travels he fit in many different places, so I would go for it.

[name]Nigel[/name] [name]Barker[/name] made me accept this name. I like it a lot!
